Maybe I am just venting, but I am so tired of my dealer telling me that I am SOL on my bubbling dashboard even with the MOPAR extended warranty. Which I’m pretty sure I paid north of $2400 for. I have a 2020 limited with only 40,000 miles and the dashboard has a huge bubble in the middle. I don’t even live down south, rather than northeast, and I’ve always taken care of everything whether be leather treatment or ceramic waxes. Dealership wants $2500 to repair/replace. Ridiculous. Apparently my only other option is to buy a new one. Thanks, but do I really want to buy another RAM after this type of service? Great truck, but buyer beware!

You out of your regular warranty, (3 years or 36000 miles) in time and mileage. Read your extended warranty carefully. You may get lucky with the dealer to do a good will repair as this is or was a common failure with those dashes and years. Good Luck.

Apparently the $2500 Mopar warranty does not cover. You would think that they would take care of this. I digress....

I see other's are having the same issue. Makes me question if I will buy another RAM...

Quite a few people including me have been able to get a goodwill repair from Ram that covers most or all of the cost

I had the same in my copart Truck.
I put the dash to a leather Shop to put new leather on it. Looks good and took 600€
A new dash is 4.700€ without labour in Germany.

Mine is at Huffines Dodge in Plano getting the dash replaced right now, suppsed to be done around 5PM. They did it under Goodwill and are paying 60%, I pay 40%. I'm paying $604. I can buy the dash myself for $502.

Mine wasn't near as bad as many of the pics I've seen posted here, I went in on whim to see what they'd say and they gave me no hassle whatsoever, looked at the dash for about 2 seconds then wrote it up and we waither for Ram/Stellantis to give a response. 10 min later the service writer had a response. Seemed like he been there done that and knew about the issue.

Liike I said, mine wasn't bad at all, actually holding up but I know its a continuing problem, for $600, fix that S

Maxcare and most extended "full coverage" type warranties rarely cover anything considered cosmetic, such as paint or interior soft bits, body gaskets and seals.

Your best bet is to have a good independent automotive upholstery shop take a look at it. They may be able to spot repair it, or have a better price in regards to removal and retrimming the dashboard.

Ideally, if they need to retrim, highly recommend high quality vinyl over leather. Most leather dash coverings will eventually shrink.

Was your truck kept in a garage? Just curious as I wanted to gauge the susceptibility of the dashboards to bubbling.

You purchased a service contract, failed to read what is not covered by the contract. You not understanding that is on you.

Like others have said, try to get it goodwill coverage.

That was mine.
Bad for a Truck that expensive

I've seen universal carpeted dashboard protectors bought at the swap meet that fit better than that.

Sorry you're going through that man, but if the dealer won't give you goodwill, there is alternatives with upholstery shops, find one that has good ratings on Yelp and see what they say..

My answer to that is mine was kept in a garage s

OMG that is the worst looking bubbling I have ever seen for these dashes. Mine bubbled and separated and was replaced under warranty but wasn't even close to that bad. Did you regularly clean that thing with a solvent that disintegrated the glue? :ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO:

I'm really starting to think that this is the issue or specifically, some type of protectant that being applied.
I use a sun shade and my windshield has ceramic IR film on it (70%) so its not UV light. It may be the heat but I think its the protectant chemicals used. I don't regularly use anything on the dash but a but I applied a protectant to a discolored spot on the dash to make it blend with the rest and a few days later, I noticed that it had bubbled or the adhesive failed in that same spot.

I agree with that conclusion. Mine didn't separate until I applied a leather treatment product and then it did it within a week. Thankfully I used very little, and my separation is only in two spots and very subtle.

Just picked upy truck, everything looks good.

Leather looks exactly the same as the original. I've read some comments where the leather was changed and had a different texture but this is exactly the same. Part number is different though, ends in AG so there's been a few revisions.

No squeaks and no rattles, good job(y)

That would concern me. Had mine done in August and the new dash is like the leather in-between the glove boxes. I noticed right away that it was different. The original dash was the same as the doors. Hopefully they it hold up for both of us!!

My dash is apparently the latest part number revision. IMO, it's not the leather that the problem but the adhesive used. On this dash, I don't see glue lines where the adhesive was applied. It's all one solid mass whereas my original, I could see lines under the leather where the adhesive was applied in back and forth stripes

Did Ram cover it or did you pay?
I had to pay 40%, I'm out of 3/36.
I could buy the dash myself for $502 + tax and shipping then still had to install it myself, my guess is that it would have been right around $600-650.

I paid $602 and Ram paid the rest and installed it, no brainer to me
