Hey Everyone... New member here. Got my rebel about 1 month ago. Came back from vacation notice the carpet was soaked driver side and damp on passenger side. Checked the sunroof drains and they seemed fine. Called the dealership to make an appointment to find the door seals were failing. Just got her back today so planning on hitting the car wash or waiting for a good downpour to see if they were right.

I had noticed my window switch and speaker grill had water drops on them. I thought it was just because I had opened the door after a rain and it dripped them. That was when I decided to pull the trim panels and noticed the 1.5-2" water in the "trough" area. I was like : "I wonder how many others have the same leak but never know because it didn't rain hard enough to soak the carpet."

You may want to do a search for more info but here's a link to one issue.

Hi Sinkorswim22,
We're happy to hear your dealer seems to have addressed your concerns. If, after testing, your concern returns, please feel free to send us a private message and we would be happy to have this documented and get you connected with a case specialist to look into this further.

From what I can gather from the various posts on the forum, it seems like there is a defect where water can come through the frame/body seams (the seam the weather gasket sits on). Technically you could fix this by sealing the seam with silicone or something, but the correct resolution would be to prevent water ingress from the outside (if you could determine where it's coming from).

Honestly I consider this recall worthy since tons of people seem to have the issue (a lot more people probably have it but just don't realize it since they live in drier climates or park their car under shelter), but I guess since it's not safety related (unless the NTSB cares about mold) it gets swept under the rug.

This is all on top of the existing water issues that already existed (rubber grommets not being installed properly, water ingress through the roof antenna, etc.).
