What doescthe 8/80 have to do with a service contract? The PCM is covered by the 8/80 warranty too, that logic means PCM would not he covered.

Mopar considers the etorque system part of the emissions system, so it falls under the federal standard of 8/80 and is not covered by any extended warranty. Just like other emissions parts as well.

I didn’t make the rule, just simply passing along what I was told by a very reputable dealer who’s sold thousands (if not more) extended warranties.

Can you prove that etorque is covered under max care or any Mopar backed extended warranty/service contract beyond the original federal 8/80 warranty?

They only way I can show is for someone with maxcare service contract to share their vin#. Until then I can only go off past experiences with parts that are covered under 8/80 and maxcare service contracts.

I will be checking vins often as I see them roll into the dealer. It's hard to believe a MGU or BPCM would not be a covered part.

Whether or not you have any warranty, Etorque is considered an emissions system, and therefore is federally mandated to be covered under 8/80 emissions. Whether or not an extended warranty can cover it beyond that, depends on the warranty you purchase.

I was just stating the fact, due to comments being all over the place, about different warranties, and someone thinking that some warranties seem to void factory warranties it seemed, that no matter what, it is covered until 8/80.

Any chance you can see if the battery is covered too? I suspect not but worth a look?
