Ultimate OBD JScan Thread

Don’t know about that, but support at JScan is very helpful. I emailed them yesterday about turning on trailer light check and got a response from them this morning. Their support put me in the right direction and now trailer light check works.

So when are you going to post up that procedure?

Figured thread was dead or nobody interested since I didn’t get any response to my question, but here you go
In JScan,
Body -> Configure

Trailer Light Check Present
Change to Set

Trailer Light Check Cycles
Set to amount of times you want to cycle through lights.

It’s not dead. I think we have just done through the most common and useful changes already. Thanks for posting this. Very helpful! When does the check run or do you have to initiate it somehow?

In the trailer to section on dash display not on radio. After you set it up through JScan it will show up but give you some kind of error if you are not connected to trailer.

Ok cool. Thanks. I don't have a trailer section so guess I wouldn't be able to use it

Hi everybody.
I have a 2021 big horn 4x4 ecodiesel with the UConnect 3 8.4"

I have off road on closer but not on the radio.
Is it bossible to add it?
I don't have the "vehicle" app.

Hi everyone, I need some help. I have a new to me 2024 RAM 1500 Rebel Crew truck that came with the big tow mirrors with power, heat, turn signal, puddle, but they are manual fold. So, I am switching them out to the sport model mirrors with (supposedly power folding), heat, turn signal puddle, and blind spot.

Here is what I bought to replace the manual fold tow mirrors with power folding sport mirrors:

Left mirror - 68610315AA which is supposedly power folding, heated, turn signal, puddle, memory.
Right, mirror - 68610314AA which is supposedly power folding, heated, turn signal, puddle, memory.
Drivers door window switch with power fold button - 68590582AA
Drivers door module - 68517697AB
Passenger door module - 68517696AB

I also bought Bluetooth OBD Link MX+ with bypass cable and used Jscan to inable the powered mirror activate functions. The new mirrors and door switch are installed, and the door modules were already installed in the truck from the factory. I have installed the mirrors and door switch, all the mirror functions appear to be working like they should, accept I cannot get the power folding sport mirrors to power fold?

As best I cannot tell, these are both power folding mirrors, the door modules are supposed to support power folding, and the door switch is supposed to be the right one for my truck. All the parts are new oem parts. Could maybe someone with better knowledge, or resources than me, please check my numbers and confirm I have the right parts? Is there something I am missing, or not thought of? Maybe the door switch is bad? Any help is very much appreciated.

Same as AlfaODB. You need an ODB reader and a bypass cable.
THIS is the cable I used and I believe THIS is the reader I used. You also have to buy a license for your particular VIN.
So I just added new tires for my 2020 BTS 1500. Went from 275-55 20 to 275-65 20.
So I want to change computer tire size.
Just downloaded the JScan app and will order this reader noted above.

Why do I need the cable? Isn’t the VeePeak Bluetooth to the JScan phone app?

Good thread! Lots of info to read back through.
I have had AlfaOBD almost since I bought my Ram in 2019. Have used it for lots of stuff. I have only used JScan for a little over a year, since I bought my JK Wrangler. I actually made my first programming change (tire size) to the Wrangler using AlfaOBD, but I have found JScan to be more user-friendly, with its layout and menus, even for my Ram. I suspect that this is just a matter of personal preference, but I have also been reading that JScan is a bit more "capable", for some things - like pairing key fobs.

The cable is to bypass the SGW so you can make changes to the BCM
