I got out of my truck this morning and noticed my 8.4 Uconnect screen was still on, even after the truck was off. It eventually shut off after a few minutes, but when I got back in, its still showing im connected to Apple Car play even when my phone is not connected and the radio wont play any music. Have any of you experienced this yet?

Mine does the exact opposite. A few times now, when I get in and start driving I notice my screen is still black. Sometimes the power button turns it on, sometimes I have to restart the truck.

Hello marcd118,

We're sorry to hear you're having such a hard time with your Uconnect screen. Send me a direct message as this sounds like a compatibility concern. After I test this and the concern still persists, I can escalate to Uconnect for further handling.

I just got back into my 2019 RAM 1500 Laramie from lunch and the radio screen had vertical lines on the screen...now it's all black!

Hi Shamisc,
We're very sorry to hear about your screen. Have you made an appointment with your dealership to have this addressed? If so, please send us a private message with your VIN as we would like to look into this further.

My new Ram is doing the same thing. How do I turn the radio off? I don't want to replace the battery.

Hello Lights Out & gmonetta

There was a TSB Released on November 5th that addresses symptoms that your describing..
This TSB will have to be performed at your local dealer; please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with.

**This TSB specifically addresses the 5", 7" & 8.4" infotainment systems**

I just got out of my truck, engine off, radio and Nav still playing, wouldn't shut down? This is the first time this happened. only 7K miles.
This is a 12" Uconnect system. I disconnected my battery, waited and,, reconnected it a few minutes later. All shut down.
I have not started the truck again. I guess I lost all presets and maybe something more.
Has any one experienced this? How was it fixed? Thanks.

Thanks for reaching out. I got pretty rattled by this bug. In the event this happens again when I'm out, I purchased a battery cutoff from Amazon, I could quickly reset the battery to clear this situation.
I didn't think I would have to do this in an American car.
Honestly I'm disgusted with this situation.
Would you know if there is a TSB Fix for this situation? How would that work?
I'n not happy with the Dealers around me, so i'm waiting for this to happen again.
Thank you.

You shouldn't have lost your presets when you disconnected the battery. They are stored in non-volatile memory.

I’ve had the same problem, Alison. Screen stays on, dash stays on with eventual complete battery depletion. The memory of my 2020 “Limited” was wiped out and the 12” Uconnect no longer displayed “Limited” functionality buttons...it shows “Rebel” graphics and a lot of the “Limited” buttons no longer exist. The truck has been at the dealer for 3 weeks. I’m on my second FCA “Star” Engineer, second radio replacement, second screen replacement (even replacing the screen on the brand new radio), updating all the software and reflashing the computer twice. Still no fix. 9 more days until the “Lemon Law” kicks in. FYI, the truck has 3k miles on it. So sad...it’s a nice truck but the computer just isn’t worth it. The electronics are a mess.
