Hey what’s up everyone. Im brand new to the group and I’ve had my truck for a year next month. I’m sure this question has been posted a thousand times but I can’t find one with my exact details. So I love my truck but it’s just a big horn and has the 8.4 Uconnect 4 with the regular 6 speaker system. As soon as the weather got nice, windows were open and I tried cranking my tunes I was VERY disappointed in the sound level. Windows up radio at about volume 20ish with the bass at +3 or +4 it sounds decent. But im used to my 2015 sierra going loud enough to wake the dead. Wind noise loud exhaust and loud *** kids can really ruin a great jam session. I started checking some things out and I upgraded my front door speakers to infinity and dash speakers to infinity also i believe. I can’t recall the dash ones for sure. They sounded ok but nothing really got better. I was hoping I’d gain SOMETHING actually think the stock speakers had a little better sound quality but I left them in anyway. So is it maybe cuz theyre not amplified? 🤷🏻‍♂️ I didn’t do anything with the 2 rears my concern is mostly the front anyway. So my question is what do I need to do to amp these up? I don’t want to change my radio unit I like the stock system. I don’t want to add Subs (at least not yet) but would like the option later if I get an amp that I can add them onto easily. And I’ve also read about ANC systems causing volume issues but bypassing doesn’t seem to make enough difference to bother with it so I’m skipping right to amps. I used to install systems and do all my own stuff but we’re talking 90s/00s vehicles when things were simple. AND cheap. So it’s been a while since I’ve taken on an audio upgrade and I have zero knowledge and zero clue where to go or what to get. I’ve been in the auto industry 20+ years in about all departments and now I manage a truck accessory shop that installs lift kits and exhaust and badass stuff so ask me what size the lower strut bolt is on a 2018 Silverado and I’ll hand u a 17mm but sound systems I’m 🥴🥴 there’s a reason accessory shops don’t really mess with audio/visual. I’d still like to do my own work I never let people touch my truck if I can avoid it. So can someone help me out and give me some ideas what I’ll need to get? I assume I need an amp (obviously) and some type of harness to connect it to my factory radio but beyond that I’m clueless. I’d like to keep the costs down if possible but not sure what decent stuff even costs. I’m Not looking for top tier stuff but not Walmart 🗑️ either. What’s a good site to go to that might navigate someone uneducated like myself? I’d love a site that holds ur hand thru the process so I know I’m not buying **** I don’t need. I’ve looked at crutchfield but it’s like reading Chinese to me. Not very user friendly for us amateur folks. Or has Anyone else done the exact thing and can share what they did to boost their volume? Links, pics, brands and hell, a list of exact products used would be awesome! Realistically I’m just trying to add as much volume as I can without it distorting and stop the sound from cutting down after I pass 26-27 on the dial. Thanks in advance

first ya need the pac anc bypass, it's a must.
amp wire kit, loc converter and i suggest a recoil 5 channel amp use 4 channels for now and it leaves you the 5th for a future subwoofer. do some research. you can just put the amp on the dash speakers you will have to run speaker wires to those so you can cross them over. there are alot of ways you can go if ya don't want a sub ever then get a 4 channel. 300 bucks and you got everything you need

I am doing same thing, 21 Ram DT with base 6 speaker, already added infinity 3.5s, have some jbl 6x9s laying around. But I seen a easy way on a post, but looking for proper harness. I installed anc bypass, took literally 10 seconds to install. But seen somewhere there is harness that bypasses anc and gives you wires to go to high level inputs on amp, then the wires to go go to speaker right at that anc bypass harness, so all the wiring can be done where the anc amp is. Then just run power wire and ground and remote turn on. I want to keep it simple. Anyone know the harness part number I am talking about? I found on my 13 Ram, adding some sound deadening really increased base response, but I had the alpine system in that truck and all infinity speakers except ceiling.

There has been a little bit of discussion on this topic here:
