Little bit of plastiDip, some TRX shoes, and a couple aluminum pucks stuffed in the right spots…

And I ended up with this, a baby Rex lol

(massaged some plastic and metal tabs for the liners to not rub)

Good looking truck! I never liked the look of the front end of the Rebel and I couldn't figure out why. It was the silver skid plate. Just painting it black makes all of the difference in the world.

It’s a tad higher with the level and tires. Perfect for what I wanted
That's kind of what I'm doing with my Limited Longhorn - leveled with 35s, and it should wind up looking much like a Black Widow (just not 7" taller).

Good lookin' Baby Rex - Nice Job!! (y)

Yup. This is next on my to-do list for my Rebel. I initially tried to take it off, but after removing about 20 screws/bolts and realizing I had 100 left I gave up. I'll just mask everything off and paint it on the truck.

I did that on the 2017 rebel I used to own (masked everything and painted on the truck). Except I painted it with bed liner for better durability. It was a nearly perfect match with the powder coated bumpers, unlike the plasti-dip I used when i wasn't sure I wanted it that way. I never really understood why all Rebels didn't come with black powder coated skid plates. Looks soooo much better.

Yeah the skid needs to be black. Period. Not even an argument. I used PDip because I’m waiting for a new bumper to come out and wanted to get it down quick and inexpensive.

Waiting on the “Heathen” bumper from evil manufacturing, that’s next up

Not sure about this brand. The name of this small metal tube is “EVIL OFF-ROAD DESTROYER,” might be overstating things

Does that bumper require cutting and welding like their others? I really like their tubular “prerunner” bumper with the valence but there’s some cutting involved and I just can’t bring myself to do that yet.

I’d assume yes, but I’m ok with cutting and welding.

I am also wondering if ADD will make a bomber version for the Rebel like they did the TRX.

I’ve been bugging them…unfortunately what’s out is all we’re going to get for a long time. Their too busy playing tummy sticks with trx owners and now Broncos.

I’ve talked to Westin, n-fab, and add. Not looking like we will have too many options in the foreseeable future…

We were planning on doing bumpers for production but freight shipping is nightmare right now. If we can find a decent freight shipper we may go back to that route. We do bumpers for local pickup only. We are doing the same thing with our rock sliders currently. Here is a Tundra bumper we built recently. We will build a very similar one for our truck.
