I was in my driveway with my foot on the brake and it started to rev high then took off I had no time to thinkDid it stop…then restart…with your foot still on the brake?
Thank you just trying to see if anyone else had this issue …mats were not the issue , it caused me to have a bad accident but I am ok thankfully …happened so fast, just trying to see if anyone had this issue at all or taking off when foot on brake ..thank youFirst thing I’d check is make sure the floor mat didn’t bunch up on you or something like that.
Otherwise, I’d hit the dealer if still under warranty. That’d scare the bejesus out of me…I’d be standing on the brake pedal while fumbling with the shifter knob.
Hear ya on no time to think, hopefully you’re ok and no damage to anything.
Closest I’ve had is have it shut off…sitting there, then restart because most likely the cabin temp dropped. I felt a tiny surge..but nothing like you’re describing.
Sorry to hear, and glad you’re ok.
I have had this happen several times on my old Ford F150 and on the RAM. In all cases it was caused by my inadvertently fat footing the brake and gas pedals. It really did not feel like I was applying throttle but on close inspection, yes, the heel of my foot was touching the gas pedal. It is very disturbing but avoidable.thanks for all the posts on this issue, I have a 2021 rebel no e-torque and in the last two weeks this has happened twice, last time was this morning. As someone posted very scary. Did the same, put all my weight on the brake and threw it in neutral. Just had the truck serviced last week at 30K and nothing was found. Sounds like no one has an answer yet.
Whew, I read it as “wife took truck and took off on me”. Had me scared…i thought that's a title of a new country song lol
and i'm a country fan myself before anyone gets riled up.
