Transmission fluid change.

What ever makes you sleep better at night. The dealership is NOT telling the truth it being sealed and lifetime which means it's a lie. They're covering their a$$ until out of warranty. Enjoy!
The dealership is saying exactly what their manufacturer tells them to say. Be angry at Ram, not the dealership in this case, and this is coming from a guy that hates dealerships.

I'm not hating on anybody, that's your assumption. I'm letting others know the truth, which is, it's not sealed or lifetime. Enough said. NEXT!

Who builds the transmission? Here is a hint, Stellantis/Ram doesn't buy transmission assemblies for these trucks.
Ram does both, they built the V6 transmission in house while purchasing the V8 transmissions.

Stellantis only builds the 850RE (formally 845RE) under license from ZF (8HP45 / 8HP50) at Kokomo.

Stellantis buys the 8HP70 / 8HP75 / 8HP95 from ZF who builds them at facilities in South Carolina and Germany

Did you end up changing the fluid yet?
I bought the blauparts package to do it but havent performed it yet.

I got hung up when i saw them jack up the tranny in a shop...
I didnt plan on that.

Let me know if you tackled it yet

I dropped the Y-pipe, gave enough room to remove the pan, no need to jack up the tranny in my case.
Wire brush and "BP blast" the heck out of the y-pipe to manifold bolts and the down pipe hardware.
A long T40 bit will save the day.

Got one from amazon.
Drink plenty of water and have fun.

It is not a lie, there is no service recommendations from RAM. We service these transmission daily where I work(RAM dealer). I have serviced from 60k miles to 100k miles, never had an issue. These trans are built very well. Even the Stellantis built units are very dependable.
Do you guys mostly just do fluid exchanges? Or filter replacements when doing the job? My service manager said for me (65k on the clock) to just do the fluid exchange.

It is recommended by ZF to do the fluid and integrated pan/filter at around 60K for the one in the RAM 1500. Other versions it's 70K or higher. I would change the filter since you are already dropping the pan and changing that fluid.

We do it both ways, the exchange only is cheaper and many customers think with their wallets. I prefer/recommend the filter service.

If you're doing, it would make no sense to not do the filter.
There are two ways to have it serviced. A fluid exchange and a filter service. An exchange is a one for one fluid replacement, some would call it a flush.
