You don’t want to get the expansion blocks underneath the metal lip in the stake pocket. When you tighten down the bolts it pulls the expansion block into the tracrac rail and expands. You want it to expand against the metal lip if that makes sense.I’m attempting this install and it seems the bolts are about 1/8” too short to get the rubber expansion block under the metal lip. I’m afraid to loosen the rectangular nut too much and have it fall inside the bed wall if I wiggle the bolt too much. What’s the trick?
All the pictures and advise on how to cut away the plastic were spot on.
Ok, that makes more sense. With the rear pocket, the rubber block will expand against the plastic bed cap before it hits the metal, right? And that’s ok? I cut out the plastic out from about a 1/8 to 1/4” down.
