TO HEMI or not to hemi ?

And boosting what, 16 psi? Thats s a lot of heat...GM ,toyota and FORD are cooking main bearings on their 6 cyl turbos..what makes you certain Ram wont?

The EcoBoosts are far from perfect, but what you said has simply and literally never been one of their issues.

Yes, Toyota has had widespread trouble with main bearing failure on their Tundras. But that doesn’t indict all motors of similar design philosophy.

Let’s at least try to deal with facts in these discussions.

Forums and internet in general allow anyone to just say anything as if it were fact. Trouble is, others believe it.

Ford doesn't put their turbos in the F250 either, they can't handle the duty cycle. Ford engineer is on record saying this to Andre from TFL. Heavy duty trucks put horsepower under durability/duty cycle on the list of "things that matter".

Half tons are basically glorified station wagons these days. Cushy suspensions and winning stop light wars matter to most buyers more than keeping a truck running through years of hard labour.
well maybe for some folks. I carried all kinds of stuff in my '19 laramie ccsb 4x4. also towed our 28' 6000# travel trailer many miles at an easy 68-70 miles an hour with the hemi and 3.92 gears and 33 gal. tank. when not working it would really scoot and handled great on mountain roads during quite a few ski trips. probably wouldnt want to do any of that stuff with a station wagon.

Same here, only with 3.21 and 26 gal tank. The 5.7 is the only recent/current engine in the half ton space that also lived for years in the 3/4 tons, and that was a huge selling point for me.
