I did the VViViD vinyl dark smoke. It’s pretty **** dark. Definitely noticed a difference in light output
Did you mean Dark Black, or Smoke Black? I only see 3 option on Amazon... Matte Black, Dark Black or Smoke Black. I’d think the smoke would be the lightest tint out of the group (that’s what I bought and wanted a lighter tint), and I don’t want mine to be that dark. For the same reason you noticed a big difference in light output...

The smoke black is the way to go. I had a little left from my failed tail light attempt and did my turn signals lenses that are in the mirror. I’ll grab a pic in the morning.

I'll be doing mine in the next few weeks and will use smoke black. Don't want to hurt light output anymore than that.

Not halogen, but tinted.
That looks great! What shade did you use? That’s about the shade I want on mine. I bought vivid smoke black. That’s the lightest shade I could find on Amazon...

Looks great! Are you doing your headlights also? Can you post pics of those to?

Yeah, I need to order more film. I had enough to do one yesterday as a test.

Best to start at the top corner of the grill and work down and out. Then at the bend of the light work it from the center up and down and out. Heat the edges to form around the curves but don’t push in yet. That will leave the room to make the cuts. After the cuts are made reheat the edges so the film lays down. Then use a card or toll to seal the edges. Then warm all of the tint that’s applied so it shrinks as it cools to seal on the lens.

I should have snapped a pic before I pulled it off. It took roughly 10 minutes to do. I’m gonna attempt the tails one more time.

I did the headlights on my RAM. I don’t have the led package but this looks awesome. I will be a attempting the taillights next time it warms up. I used the film instead of the spray on. It was a little harder than I was expecting

What Size film did you use? I Want to do my fog lights and mirror lights as well. Did you have any film leftover or should i order double?

I’m looking g to get my head and tail lights darker. I’m not very good with DIY projects, so I’m looking at getting them tinting professionally or just changing them out for aftermarket. Question is how well does the tint hold up with automatic car washes? Also if anyone knows if there is even an aftermarket lights out for the new rams?

The tint holds up well as long as all the edges are sealed. Just apply whatever protection (wax, sealant, spray wax) you apply to paint for added uv protection.

Honestly I bought like 7x7 feet. Thought I was gonna mess up a lot and figured my buddies wanted it to

For the low beams I used headlight revolution. Fog lights were just some random amazon bulbs that are really nice and then the switchback LEDs they are Lasfit
