Got my taillights and 3rd brake light wrapped this weekend. The shop I went to used Luxe Lightwrap in the mid-smoke shade here. I think it came out nice. In the sun it's like a really dark cherry color.

So how well do they shine at night? All this blacking out can be a safety issue.

Very little impact to the running lights that outline the taillight. The brake light, turn signals, and backup lights are not tinted at all.

That looks great! How has the tint affected the BLIS system if at all?

And just for clarification, you got all of the red parts of the light tinted and none of amber/white parts tinted? It’s cut so clean it’s hard to tell where the tint begins and ends, again they did a stellar job!

The BLIS functions completely normally. And yep that's correct. Anything that was red got the tint. The clear portions where the actual brake, turn and reverse LEDs live are not tinted. He did 20% on the driver and passenger door to match the rear and a brow on the windshield and the whole job still only took a little over 2 hours.

Man, I tried tinting with film initially and my guy couldn’t get mine to look like yours, yours looks great. Ended going the painted route with mine and love the outcome too.

Yeah yours look really clean. I'll probably have to get mine re-done at some point in the future though so going the painted route definitely has its advantages.

So painting over the BLIS doesn’t affect it either? That’s dope!

I’ve tried getting this done, and apparently no one where I live can do this :(

@ OP
Was the Luxe Lightwrap a generic film that the shop custom cut or was it part of Luxe's pre cut line up?

Exactly, pass the wrong cop and you’re going to find a ticket in your name for any modifications done to tail lights third brake lights or headlights. I know I got busted and had to buy new tail lights because previous owner had had them spray tinted.

By the way I honestly think these look awesome that way but I’m not taking the chance again and having to pay the fuzz their fine.
