The HEMI V8 Is Back: 2026 Ram 1500 Brings Power and Choice

You're misunderstanding. The Hemi is a $1200 upgrade from the 3.6L V6 Pentastar engine, not from the SO Hurricane. The SO Hurricane is actually a $1605 updrade from the Pentastar, so the Hemi is cheaper than the SO Hurricane.

The thing that gets me is that the Hemi is a $0 upgrade for the Limited and Longhorn models, but the problem is the standard engine on those models is the HO Hurricane. If the SO Hurricane engine is basically $600 cheaper than the Hemi, I'm sure as **** the HO Hurricane is more expensive than the SO Hurricane. But if you opt for the Hemi on the Limited or Longhorn models you get no reduction in price for those engines. I'd avoid the Hemi in either of those models if I'm looking for a new truck.

Watch this video. At 5:30 Kuniskis explains it.

Sure hope they got all the software and electronics figured out, else its gonna be a nightmare. And with GM working on an all new V8, the 5.7 hemi will soon be that more far behind.

I spent the money and bought the GT exhaust ,i love the sound to bad it wasnt standard when i bought my truck. Now all Rams with the Hemi will have it so my truck wont be so unique

i actually find it pretty interesting how Tim Kuniskis was like f*ck it, let’s just give all HEMI 1500 trucks a sport exhaust standard from the factory lol..

GM’s new V8 will still be a disappointment. their lifters continue to fail if they continue to use that 4 cylinder technology of theirs.

Anything on colors? I see a green truck on the 2026 page and want to know more.

Yes, there's actually 2 different greens coming. We already have 10 ordered.
Canyon Lake is a Matte green available on every trim except Tungsten. (I'm sure this has been posted elsewhere)
I believe the green in the picture you posted is called "Serrano Green Metallic"

So why, again, is the Tungsten limited in available colors? Seriously, I’m curious. Does it have to do with painted trim again?

Honestly, everywhere I go is a lack of color options

Every single auto manufacturer its the same thing, white, black, and all the grays in-between. This isn't just a US thing, across the other side of the World I see the same thing at dealerships, just whites, seas of grays and black.

I don't think it's based purely on popularity either. Sure, some crazy colors take a long time to sell, but it's probably have in some part due to production savings. I have yet to see a 2025 Rebel at the dealer floor that isn't white or black, heck all other trims as well now that I'm thinking about it.

I'll quote Marin Lawrence in Bad Boys.

"You damn right it's limited
No cup holder no back seat
It's a shiny **** with two chairs in it
I guess we the balls just dragging the **** along"

I assume the flat color and Night Edition requirement isn't in line with the brands identity for the luxury oriented Tungsten as a whole.
Not sure I'd want the grey and indigo interior with a matte green truck anyway.

There was a point in 2024 that I think etorque Hemi was your only option, phased out the V8 only. Interesting choice, V8 e-Torque or I6TT.

I'm happy with the fact the Hemi will be available again on the Rebel trims (late availability), worried they were only going to make available on the most basic trims from earlier reports.

Cool that they all come with GT exhaust, so everyone can clearly hear you have the Hemi.
2023 and 2024 were etorque only.

This isn't due to MDS. 6.4 has the same "issues" as the 5.7, no better, no worse. You have a very low probability of getting lifter/cam issues.

I have less than 0 interest in a small high strung turbo. A beefy NA v8 with extra power for towing? Sign me up!

6.4 is better than the 5.7

Ok that's you. For me, I want the 6.4.
Some people just want to complain... crazy that you have a truck with 4 engine options ranging from 300 - 540 hp and people still just whine and complain because their perfect idea doesn't exist. If you want a 6.4 go buy a crate 392 and put it in the ram you have. Its been done before. 6.4 also has more issues because it revs a lot higher than a 5.7- 6500 rpm and collapsible lifters are no bueno.

I think he realizes that people that will be paying extra for the Hemi will do so because they like the V8 sound so might as well give them the full experience. People that want a quiet engine will get one of the 6's.

But one from the factory installed would be SOOOO much easier.😆

I think the biggest complaint is most are disappointed that the 5.7 still has wTorque. We were hoping this time around it was eliminated. My biggest regret is not ordering a non-eTorque in 2022. Not sure I want another one so may order a 2500 next time with a 6.4 if not available in a 1500.

eTorque is nothing but a gimmick. My last two 4th Gens with same gearing and no eTorque got much better overall gas mileage even before I put larger tires on my current truck. It’s only going to result in huge repair bills out of warranty down the road when components fail and be sure they will. An alternator sure would be a way cheaper alternative.

A few years ago I had an Acura that was Blue. I liked the color. When I went to trade it in, the dealer knocked down the trade in price stating the blue was a "challenging" color to move. I wound up parking the car close to a High School with a for sale on it and I got my asking price. Bought an Infiniti which was a much nicer car than the Acura. Where there is a will there is a way I suppose.

When I first started looking at the '25 in late 2023, I quickly figured that I wanted to get the Forged Blue with Night Edition. I went down to local dealer and saw the color on a Jeep, with whatever they call the blackout version - and I really liked it. Again, just my own taste. I was going to pull the trigger on a Limited, but couldn't get it with Forged Blue. Along the way I decided I wanted the Tungsten (a couple of factors), and it was the same thing. All I could get was "the blue will be 'late availability' for anything with painted trim. And yes, I really liked the look of the original Tungsten concept pictures. I waited until July and finally ordered my second choice color, and still the Night is not an option on Tungsten. Personally, I think it's stupid to make that restriction. Let the customer decide what they want.

You have 10 orders? What dealership do you work for? I want to take a look when they arrive before I place my order.

That reminds me when in was 20 years old looking for my first new car, I wanted an Acura Integra, specifically a silver one.

However, when it came to buy, all they had were white. Dealership said they increased their order of silver cars but I had to wait, so bought a white one instead. A month later, the dealer had a ton of silver Integras, but all the guys that wanted silver ended up buying ones the white and they were stuck with mostly silver cars. I was I had some patience.
