I've seen some discussions on the Tazer DT from years past and was just wondering if anyone has recently gotten a Tazer DT for their truck and if so, do they work well or are some of the issues others were having a few years ago still prevalent. I really only want it to change the tire size on my truck, I may use a few other features but that is really the main feature.

Any reviews will help.

NOTE: I'm considering buying one used off of FB Marketplace, the seller says he's simply selling his truck and doesnt need it. Do you recommend not getting a used one? Will it Marry to my truck if it's been used before?

As long as previous owner unmarries it from his truck, you can marry it to yours. I'm not sure about compatibility with 2024s though

Gotcha, that is good to know, I'll message the seller and make sure he's got in unmarried. I've got a 2020 so should be ok, just wondering if the bugs that I've seen people complain about in the past are still around now a days.

Shouldn't be any issue on your 2020

I bought a used one off eBay, turns out it was NOT unmarried. Zautomotive does offer an "unmarry" service for $50 that I made use of. Luckily the seller did right by me and gave me a partial refund to cover it. I wouldn't say the device is worth retail. I've encountered a few quirks and bugs. I've relayed them back to Zauto.

For instance I would not use the PIN function. I've seen stories on YouTube where people's RF Hubs are getting fried because the Tazer is fighting the RF hub to let the vehicle start. I tried it a few times, and even on the latest software its wonky to get it responding correctly on the first try. I've used the KillByFob, that disables the gas pedal when locked with the fob. I then hear the ETC flapping the TB randomly when the truck is off. If I were in a shady area I might use it but not for everyday. The BrakeHold function only seems to work after you've surpassed a certain MPH and then stop, and will only engage if you shift to park then back to drive. That bugged me so I disabled it. And the window down/up feature with the fob sometimes needs several tries before it responds.

Changing tire size is easy, changing the EVIC splashes is cool even if only a few work, killing the 3 beeps is awesome, killing the slam into park when the door is open is cool too. Having the TC button mapped to fully kill TC & ESC is a nice shortcut for some fun. The light shows are cool. Making your own takes some trial and error and should be noted they work better when the truck is running and lights are on if you are trying to get a strobe effect. It's more of a set and forget for me. I paid about $150 all in and I'm happy at that price point.

I've never heard the throttle body flapping using killbyfob. I've never used the pin feature because I don't want to have to enter a pin every time I jump in to drive, and my wife drives it enough it wouldn't work for her. Most of the issues I've seen with the RF hub issues have been on TRX trucks, which have two different fobs(red/black) so I feel that has something to do with it being they have a more complex RF hub.

I have no issues with the brake hold function. Will engage by just pushing the brake pedal slightly harder than I normally do to stop. And can release with gas pedal and renegade with brake without pulling away from stop light. No need to get above a certain speed.

Having the Pulsar on my truck as well I can't use the shortcuts for the TazerDT. Light shows definitely work better with truck running, depending on which lights you are using. I have found turn signals and fog lights work fine with strobe, and if ition off, but neither of the headlights work well once they time out from normal shut down.

I got mine for light show, line lock, and killing TCS/ETC fully. The other features are just bonuses to me. I strobe my third brake light. Like the park cam feature for parking in my garage. Paid full price for minez and was well worth it, IMO.

I use the mirror fold, 3honk kill, autopark kill, and seat belt chime override.
i have used the lightshow while driving in a parade and it was cool.
the windows down function is way too hard to use on any regular basis.
it was one of the features i really wanted too….

Tazer worked great on my ‘20, works fine on my ‘22. Windows down is used often, found it works best when I repeat push the quickly. If the seller is reputable, used should be fine.
