Successfully Enabled OEM Remote Start

Used this on my 24 1500 Rebel, had hood switch already, turned on options in Alfa OBD and bought new Fob, 2 locksmiths couldn't connect to the truck to program so went to ram dealer and they programed for me. They were really surprised when my non remote truck all of a sudden had remote start and remote tailgate release. Thanks for figuring this out and saving me a bunch of money
Yep - when I did this for my dad’s truck, our local dealer swore up and down it wasn’t going to work since the truck didn’t come from the factory with it. I just stood my ground and told them to program the key. They were also shocked when the truck fired up with the remote start after lol

Anyone know what this might be called in jscan? "remote tailgate release" All the options i see have rambox included.

I see videos of AlfaOBD and Javan reprogramming key fobs no problem? But I do have hood latch and push to start but I don’t see any purple wire in the box behind back seat (2023 1500dt) do I need that or is it located somewhere else now?

Hoping you can help. I recently enabled the remote start on my 2023 Rebel that already had the hood latch. Ordered new fobs with the remote start button and tailgate release button. I used the obd genie to update the trucks computer. Everything on the new remotes work except for when I click remote start the horn honks once and nothing happens. Any ideas?
I have tried to do my due diligence in searching the forum but cannot locate in the sea of information what I am looking for. I am in the same position as this person was. In AlfaOBD I changed the remote start to "Yes". I did not change "CustSetMenu 1: Sound Horn with Remote Start CSM Present- YES" because I don't want the horn to honk when I remote start, perhaps this was a mistake. I have the hood ajar indicator and push to start. I got the firemedic/Jimmy07 remote on ebay and had it programmed today by a locksmith/key fob programming shop. They got the fob paired to the truck, and the tailgate feature like tcyfp stated above worked, but it was the same situation as above when I double clicked on remote start. Honk, no start. It's been driven over 30 mph today and no change. firemedic commented on a post that the remote start needs to be enabled in the radio too - I have not seen on my uconnect screen where this is an option. Any help or guidance would be appreciated. Thank you. (2023 1500 3.6 etorque)

With the help of @Jimmy07, we successfully enabled the factory remote start on my dads 2023 Big Horn that did not come factory with it. Of course the dealership swore up and down the truck was not capable of having remote start since it did not come from the factory with it. They are truly clueless. Below are the few steps / things needed to enable yours if you don't have it.

1 - AlfaOBD settings you need to change:

Vehconfig 1: Remote Start Present- YES

CustSetMenu 1: Sound Horn with Remote Start CSM Present- YES

2 - Confirm your truck does have the hood latch connector that tells the truck that hood is open.

3 - Purchase this remote, recommended by @Jimmy07 to be a working aftermarket remote and have it programmed to your truck.

4 - The truck must be driven over 30 mph once everything is activated and the new key is programmed.

That's it - my dad had the key programmed this morning and all works perfectly, even the tailgate open which also he didn't have from the factory. No other pieces were installed or changed. Hope this helps someone in the future.
Does this work for a 2025 3500 Tradesmen? I don’t care about the fob, I’d like to start from the app.
