If you search for FCA on google maps around the Detroit area, you can spot 4 or 5 big lots that had many many trucks parked in rows when the photos were taken. So, yeah, sometimes they stack up for whatever reason, awaiting chips, autoracks, shipping......

In my case, the sudden 4 week shift in ETA had something to do with the transfer to the rail carrier. It went from 6/29 not shipped to 7/31 not shipped to 7/3 in the space of two days. The dealer told me it was last in Ohio as of today. I presumed it had been loaded yesterday onto the Norfolk Southern train that runs to the Chicago area daily for the interchange with Union Pacific. Now I get to see how many railyards it loiters at along the way.
It's not sometimes. That is standard shipping. They build in sequential order, but those get shipped all over the world. They ship them off to the yards, where they sit until the appropriate shipping vehicle has the opening for it, whether it is a truck or train, going to the destination.

no
that report is only available through the dealer connect system
if you are not having any luck, go up the management chain
That's not true. I had mine. My salesman hooked me up with the dealer connect. I knew every step of the way.

Not sure what you mean by, "they build in sequential order", but if you're talking about VIN sequences, then that is absolutely not true.

I know they are not built in sequential order 000001, 000002, but don't the build in sequential order of the group they are currently building?

There's a "general trend" of groups that they focus on at any given time. But they only build somewhere around 80% of a group, and keep pushing forward. Then they peck away at the remaining groups until they're mostly done. For example, here is a chart showing what was built last week. The main "push" was in the 650-659 groups. But at the same time, they were cleaning up orders all the way back to the 507 group. And they were popping out some brand-new orders in the 676 and 682 groups.

But when they were building group 657, weren't they in numerical order of 657? 657001,657002,657003

Not at all. Here’s a quick screen grab from my files (don’t have my spreadsheet handy). This example is from the 503 group. Look at the dates - they’re all over the place.
