It was a long ride down here but it was worth it! Anyone considering ordering from Mark Dodge I can't recommend them enough. Now to drive it back home.

So, I've probably gone completely crazy, but I figure that this is a safe space, so it's ok to share. Given that I'll likely never see the Ram I ordered, which is more or less confirmed by my dealer, I've now entered the arena of "I'll take any truck I can get." I placed a reservation for a Sierra Denali Ultimate when reservations opened up (back in October), but I've had no movement there and I've heard rumblings that delivery dates could be well into Q3/Q4 this year. So, since I've struck out with both Ram and GMC, I've decided to order a 2022 F150. The dealer guaranteed I'd have my truck by the end of March, which I don't believe, but I had them modify the order contract to say that if my truck isn't delivered by April 1, I get my deposit back or they have to give me an additional $1,000 of the truck when it is delivered, my choice. I figure it's worth a shot, since I don't lose anything by ordering it and they gave me $5k off MSRP and are throwing in a Retrax tonneau cover for free, which basically puts me at around invoice pricing.

Only time well tell. @RamCares, if you want to save my business, make my trucking truck already and stop coming up with lame excuses we all know don't hold any water.

Can you not just buy off the lot, if you're looking for any truck?

Waiting since June 22

Do you still have the 2019, if so you still have something. I borrowed my grandsons 2019 Ram 2500 to tow my camper out to deer camp, looks like I'm making the 4 hr round trip to borrow it again and tow it back to storage. My someday maybe May 21 ordered Rebel was supposed to be built last friday and all Cust Serv can verifiy that it is finally somewhere they know not where in the production codes.
I just checked the Ram Tracker spreadsheet and my vin 100517 is the lonely and oldest Gen5 at the top of the stack, the next lowest Gen5 is 102236 a 6.4 ft bed Limited

Well, it has been 6 months to the day and my truck is finally getting built. I am very happy that I will not have to settle like I thought I would.

Thank you triple_B for bringing the good news.

At least where I live, there is no such thing as a truck on the lot, unless you are looking for a bare bones model. For Ram, I've only been able to find Tradesman and Lone Star trims available, and with Ford, only $85k lifted XLT's (I did find one dealer that had a Platinum trim level I was interested in, but they wouldn't budge off a price that was $5k over MSRP, so I told them to call me in a few weeks when they still have it if they are willing to sell at MSRP). For better or worse, I'm a luxury truck kinda guy, so I require a well-equipped, high trim level truck.

No. I sold my 2019 when I was made an offer that ultimately resulted in me essentially selling it for what I paid for it (I got a steal when I bought it new). At the time, I didn't think it would be a big deal because the Ram dealer told me I'd have my new truck by October. But, as you know all too well, that was a mothertrucking lie.

Understood. If I was in your position, I would use the Ram search tool on their website and select all the options you want, and then start putting in zip codes further and further away from your location to search different dealers. You should be able to find a pretty loaded Limited on a lot or in transit to and from there, throw some offers out.

Or also, why not give Mark Dodge a call in Lakes Charles? Not far from you. They may have something in transit and their prices usually can't be beat.

Well I've got good news for you. My dealer has an incoming TRX Ignition Edition that has been customized with the Mammoth 1000 package (that's 1,000 hp). My guess is they'll ask a paltry $175,000 for it. THAT would be a well-equipped, high trim level truck.
