Sport hood plastic vent fitment

I'm tempted to make them functional like I did on my Wrangler Rubicon hood.
To deal with rain I put shields over components that need protection.
It's worked perfectly for over a year.

What are the benefits of real hood vents?

The purpose is to ventilate heat through them.
I have a 2021 Scat Pack Challenger and 2021 Grand Cherokee Limited X (with the SRT hood) the vents work very well on dissipating heat.
The RAM vents are in the same location as:
Durango GT, R/T, SRT, SRT Hellcat
Grand Cherokee SRT, Trackhawk, Limited X
Challenger 15-18 SRT Hellcat , 19+ Scat Pack 392
Charger Hellcat Red Eye

Decided to go for it so now I have functional sport hood vents.
