I bought my truck two months ago and didn't realize that I left the lot with it in demo mode. It finally forced me to start the free one year subscription but when in tune in the stations it says I have to upgrade my subscription. So I call and they verify my account is active and they sent a refresh signal. This didn't work and got transferred to technical support. After 10 min on the phone the lady said that they have a known problem with there service interfacing with the 2019 Ram 12 Uconnect. This doesn't sound right to me. It worked for 2 months on demo and all of the sudden it doesn't work and now they are working out the issues with them being able to connect to the Ram radio interface. Has anyone else has this type of issue with the satellite radio service?

I had the exact same problem. Spent over an hour on the phone with the SiriusXM people and still couldn't get the thing working. It says must update subscription. I have a 2019 Ram with the 12 UConnect. Did you ever get the issue solved, would love to know how?

they have a known problem with SiriusXM service interfacing with the 2019 Ram 12 Uconnect system. I have been on the phone numerous times actually had a rep. Call me Thursday and is personally looking it on my issue. We will see.

I can’t get signals for channels above 700. Blows I can’t listen to NFL when out running weekend errands.

Boo to SiriusXM!

I had the same issue along with the icons for the stations not appearing. Also, the station channel startup occurring on Sirius channel 1 (by the way you cannot manually tune to unless you use voice activation). Happened all the time for the first month of ownership. Got an automatic over-the-air update through the vehicle's built-in cellular and that cured 95% of those issues. It will still play channel 1 for a split second occasionally on startup but then switches back to the last used channel.

Just had the issue tonight with the graphics disappearing for the presets. I remote started and the radio was on the preview station...again. I hit the start button to head out and all of the presets lost the graphics. The audio quality isn't very good when it does work.

It will still play channel 1 for a split second occasionally on startup but then switches back to the last used channel.
...and that is just nuts. This shows the priority is preview for new sales, not serving their existing subscribers.

SiriusXM makes me sad. What a crappy way to run a service business. I don't think I'll be renewing after the demo period is up.

Having the same issue here. Been a month and a half with no service in my new 2019 Rebel with 12” UCONNECT. SiriusXM says the tech are aware of this error issue on this radio. Sure wish they’d figure it out. I miss my SiriusXM. Dealership is involved but they don’t seem as concerned as I am. I wouldn’t have paid or upgraded the radio if I’d have known it wouldn’t allow me to use it as advertised. Anyone else out there have this issue and had a resolution to it yet?

Same thing happened to me. I bought my 2019 Limited which was used with 3K miles. SiriusXM worked for 4 days and then stopped. I had SiriusXM on my previous Ford Explorer and called Sirius to switch my old Ford plan to the new Ram which they did but SiriusXM still does not work. Very frustrating...and with my hood vibrating when I hit 65 miles an hour I am not feeling great about my new purchase.

Sorry about the radio problems. Mine is working reasonably well but there are glitches which I will explain in another post. I too have the hood flutter problem that is covered by a recall. My dealer attempted the advised fix and I still have a vibrating hood at highway speeds. I am scheduled to have a new "fix" soon and I will let you know if it works. These first generation new models are going through numerous poor quality issues at our expense. Shame on FCA for the countless hours of our having to deal with this!

So the only way the SiriusXM radio works is by voice command and if I have a saved alert otherwise I cannot tune it by the knob or by presets.

I’ve been back and forth between the dealership and SiriusXM techs that seem oblivious to do anything above reading the script in front of them. The dealership here in Newmarket, ON, Canada; doesn’t assume any responsibility towards the problem and refuse to switch out the unit. SiriusXM reps read their script, nothing works that they suggest, and apologize while assuring me that this issue will be forwarded to a level 2 technician. Been almost 2 months without service and my patience is beginning to run thin. These techs should have the incident #’s on the computer screen under their noses as they ask all the security questions to ensure they are talking to the correct person, you would think? I give them the incident # every time I call. If that idiot can’t help, move me up the chain to speak to someone who knows more, seems like a logical next step... Never happens! I’m hoping someone has better luck than me and will post the resolution on this thread so I can get the same done. Keep you all posted...

When my 1-year trial subscription that came with the vehicle expired, I paid for a XM new subscription. But the XM Radio still stopped working displaying I needed to renew my subscription. I called XM and they confirmed that they had received my payment and renewed my subscription; then the customer service rep tried to send a signal to my truck. No go. Then I got passed to 2nd level tech support - what a worthless lot. His first answer was because I had the new version of radio, I had to upgrade my XM subscription to include Internet all access. I politely told him that was a load and my truck has never had internet access. Then asked for a supervisor. After 10 minutes, no supervisor was available; but now a different story from the tech support person - they have a known software problem with XM talking with the new 2019 radio. But they had no forecast on when it would be fixed. I was to call back customer service and ask for a credit on my account.

Today I called RAM UConnect - Surprise, Surprise. They knew about this software issue and have a silent recall to update the radio's software. I'll let ya'll know if it works, but have to wait 2 weeks for the dealership to give me an appointment.

My XM has constant issues just like everyone, most recently it plays the XM subscription channel, even though it is set to an actual channel. So I have to change the channel and then change it back.

It used to default to the subscription channel at start up, but now it sometimes starts on the subscription channel and then will quickly switch the actual channel.

It is really confusing to me that RAM can not hire a software program to design a stable software. We have video games that look like movies and Russians can supposedly hack into the government computers and rig a national election, but RAM can't design a radio that works...

So, my U-Connect (SXM-Guardian) subscription lapsed, but I still had 3-months on the XM Radio side. Suddenly I notice that the option to use SXM-Radio completely disappeared, just as if the truck never had it to begin with, WTH!? When calling to fix my U-Connect subscription, I asked the rep & of course "I've never heard of U-Connect subscription causing issues with SXM-Radio. They are totally separate..." I tried sending the refresh code prior to correcting my SXM-Guardian (UConnect) subscription, to no avail, the SXM was still completely GONE.. Once getting going on the guardian side, low & behold SXM-Radio is back to normal!!? Smooth move SXM, getting folks to keep Guardian going if they ever want radio...!?!

Hi, I'm sorry to hear this. Please let me know if you plan on visiting a dealership for this concern. I would be happy to open a case for you.
