Service electronic stability control and check engine light

So most often when mine acts up the first error I get is service electronic stability control, makes me wonder where I should have the focus on first as the possible issue… I can see the blindspot issue being tied into the taillights being the possible source of the issue to check first
My brain keeps going back to your tire size, I think I remember something about the tire size being a bit off?

For those of us that have had CANBUS issues, (and sometimes can't get a resolution). Remember the days when a taillight went out and the vehicle didn't shut down and act like it was possessed by evil spirits, and you just put a new bulb in for a couple bucks, sometimes in the amount of time it took to fill up the tank at the gas station, and went merrily on your way?

I think those days are over, check out this video. I know it's a Ferd, but the same type of thing applies to our trucks.

Yup. A few users here have had a similar issue.

Hello!!! I have a 2020 ram 1500 limited and the electronic stability and check engine light came on. I didn’t lose traction or anything that I remember.

anyone else experience this? What is it?
Hi I get the electronic stability and stop/start warning light at the same time .I wonder how did you solve your issue?

So to update my situation. In one of these threads someone mentioned pulling fuse 53 from the interior fuse panel and replacing or resetting it. I did that about 3 weeks ago and my truck has not gave me any of the issues it had before. I have driven it for as long as an hour and 10 minutes or so and it didn’t give me any errors or cut off. The only thing it has been doing so far that wasn’t the case before is that every time I start the truck again my navigation voice volume goes to 20 no matter what it was set on before. That used to not be the case I’m sure. I still haven’t went back to the dealer and will have to eventually as I have the dreaded bubble in my dash from the last time it was at the dealer, but I haven’t had time to take my truck due to how far the dealer is from me that I want to go to.

I’m having similar problems .. really since I got the truck .. I had to change battery once then the starter .. truck was ok for a while then same things started up again with code p258b and my traction control light was on .. so I realized that there was a short in my vacuum pump and blew the fuse so I ordered vacuum pump .. I went to put new pump in and accidentally dropped it breaking of the connection for the hose put the old one back in and changed fuse and was good for a year or so .. and now after that I changed pump with a slightly used one .. and fuse trips every time I change .. and every time i bring my truck to ram for service they have it for over a month .. and the truck comes back with broken harness clips parts that don’t go on correctly anymore .. wires that they forgot to connect .. then all my calls screened and never answered unless they needed to speak to me .. and I’m not talking 1-2 calls .. I called every day leaving messages.. and never received a call back .. even texting went no where !

Time to go to a different dealer if any way feasible.

Edit: After some searching, it was the oily actuator plug issue. I hate the dealership so much.

I’m having a similar issue. Either the traction control service light will come on or the 4wd service light will and sometimes both, one followed by the other. Any further suggestions of what I might could do or check on my own is much appreciated.

I do suspect an unidentified electrical problem as I had gone through 2 starters on this truck before I hit 65k miles. Besides for that, I have the broken manifold bolt issue on the front passenger, had both the folding mirrors break (and sound like they are breaking again), seat heater fail, and now the dash is lighting up like a Christmas tree at random moments. Maybe this is sort of normal, but I’ve never had a vehicle with this many problems.

I recently had the service electronic stability control issue and found it was caused by some light corrosion under the negative battery terminal. After unhooking the battery and cleaning the terminals with a wire brush, the error has not returned.

19 Ram 1500 5.7 etorque. 47k mi. When starting, my display cycles through these three screens "service electronic stability control", "service electronic throttle control", "service trailer brake system". The truck runs but in limp mode. When I shut down and start up again it is OK? It happens every time I start the truck. I just have to shut it off and turn it back on and it ok???

How old is your battery?

Maybe a grounding problem. Also check the tail lights for moisture/water
So....I forgot about the Banks Pedal Monster that I installed years ago. I was never that impressed with it as I ran it in "city 3" mode, racing around town guzzling gas gets old. I un-installed it and the problem is gone. I might put it back in to see if it just needed re-seated or if it is bad.

Ah good call. Didn’t realize you had this
