SEMA 2022: Mopar Introduces Ram 1500 Backcountry X Concept!

Array Of Innovative Mopar Performance Parts & Accessories For The Active Work & Play-Lifestyle Customer...

Ram 1500 Backcountry X Concept. (Mopar) (1).jpg

Yesterday, Mopar pulled the covers back on three conceptual vehicles for the 2022 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas.

Among the three concepts, were two Ram 1500s loaded with Mopar goodies. The first one was the Ram 1500 TRX Gold Shot Concept, a motocross enthusiast take on the popular performance off-roader. The second Ram concept vehicle is the Ram 1500 Backcountry X Concept.

Looks pretty cool. I love those wheels.

So I click on this thread and I see a concept truck with the same wheels I have for my winter tires - sweet! Forgot how much I like those rims, now I can't wait for the weather to turn. Heck, I might just put them on this weekend..

Oh, back to the concept truck. That RamPack looks like a useful idea, though aren't the regular Ram boxes a little deeper? I wonder if the bottom shelf is removable. A number of the other features shown there are cool too, no reason most of those can't be included in a retail version.

I saw that article pop up on my screen and was totally smitten.

now if I can just hang on till a good 10 year old used one is avaiable maybe I could scrape up some money.
of course I still need to scrape up enough for my ram first.

It's a pretty crazy build. Unfortunately is just a concept and no plans for production. However with all the positive feedback they are getting from it, they are planning on adding a lot more overland type accessories in the coming year.

Some pics of it here at SEMA:

I don’t know…….🤔

Don’t care for it. Maybe very functional but it’s butt ugly in my eyes.

I like the front bar/light combo...

I like the extended height of the ramboxes, but there is not much room on the top shelf, it’s long but not deep, it would also obstruct the rear/sideview, worse than a truck cap with windows.

i just wanna know how they got 37s on a 2 inch level

Concept truck… probably can’t turn much without rubbing, goes straight really well though. 😉 Looks like the offset is pretty far out. Hard to tell…
Gotta be a typo. Looks like there's pretty good clearance. Either not 37's, or more than a 2 inch lift.

Agreed. Those don't look like 37's to me. I think it is a typo. Also noticed it advertises the wheels as Black Rhino Heaters at the bottom of the card. Those are definitely Fuel Heaters lol.

I thought the sidewalls seemed a little thin for 37's. I even tried zooming in on the picture, but couldn't make out the size ha.

Here is a pic of those same Fuel Heaters when I put them on my last Ram. Tire size is 275/60/20, imo there's noooo way the tires on that concept are 37"
