I have been searching for a post I know is somewhere here, because I've seen it. It's about the removal of the cover that contains the rear USB and 12-volt connections. Mine has neither. I understand the wiring is there. I use USB and rear and search only returns posts with the word rear. This may be a reason why there are so many people complaining about people asking a similar question over and over. Search is not specific enough to be of much use.

100% agree..everytime I search this forum, I end up googling instead..and then find it

Even better in google is to use the site: directive. Also for any words you are certain are in the post, put them in quotes. From what I read above, I might try:

"12" "usb" "rear" "panel" site:5thgenrams.com

There was a thread on here a while back about adding the OEM rear console USBs and 115v outlet to trucks that currently don't have it. I saw some good options on the thread, but a lot of people decided to just make their own rather than go about the OEM way due to price. I ended up finding a laramie console trim on eBay with the USBs and 115v at a good price and deciding to pull the trigger. I decided to go ahead and order the wire harness I needed that would give me rear access to the USBs and outlet (Part 68387136AB). It truly is a combination of keywords. Not only is the original post frequently referenced, it has been linked in many threads on the same topic.

Search on this and nearly every other xenforo site sucks. Get over it, it's unlikely to ever improve.

Use advanced search for short terms (may or may not work) but the advice to use google site: search is sage and the best method to find anything that's not a sticky.
