Hello,

I just purchased a 2024 Ram 1500 Lone Star/Big Horn V6 etourque Night Edition.
I'm looking to buy some running boards for it. What do you guys recommend?
I don't what nothing sticking way out. Any ideas or models and photos are greatly apricated.

Thanks. Ram 1500.jpg

I don't have them, as my truck came with the Mopar running boards, but I'd recommend the power side steps that extend out when you open the door and tuck up when driving. If I ever replace mine, that's what Im getting.

On a side note to HSKR, if you go with folding running boards, definitely recommend some PPF protection, due to rocks being flung up from the front tires and hitting the rear fender. Common issue on these trucks and the fix is either a stationary flat style running board (like OEM) or PPF on the rear fenders.

FYI

Mopar Power Running Boards. You can barely tell they are there and that's your point, right?

Yep, love the Mopar power steps, and wish I'd got the PPF for my rear fenders. Just washed my truck last week, and I need to find some.20220525_160734.jpg

I had non-powered running board on every other truck and the Mopar powered running boards on my current truck are so much better I will never have standard fixed running boards again.

When extended they provide a much more natural stepping height and a much wider step for better traction entering and exiting. When stowed they are nearly invisible.

I had one habit I needed to break with the power running boards but it was a small thing. With my fixed funning boards I would use them on entry but just step out directly to the ground when exiting. Now, the power step is wide enough that when exiting I need to use the step or the edge of the step will dig into lower leg when trying to step directly to the ground.

Good point. The rear tires will also fling rocks into the lower rear fender so some form of protection will be beneficial regardless of running boards.

I installed the Mopar splash guards right away and it stopped all the debris from accumulating on the rocker panels and lower rear fenders and they look like an OEM option.

Just be careful with the Mopar ones as they have a "pocket" that collects rocks/dirt. I have the Husky ones and really like them. Molded to the continues of the truck and no drilling required

Mine don't have a pocket that holds dirt. They came with a dense foam insert to fill that void.

Newer design, many complaints on the original design filling with road material/ice/snow/slush.. There are some other brands, some are shorter or longer than OEM. Some info below, there are other threads with pictures and recommendations. One member cut his down a bit and looked good.
