Run Fan Without Activating Climate Control

...you cant really make those kinda changes that are 100% detrimental to fuel savings then complain about AS/S operation.
I sure as hell can!!!!! The change to tire size has nothing to do with how the start/stop functions.

Unfortunately for you the system is working 100% as designed and is functioning properly. My suggestion would be to run the fan with defrost/floor mode set and see if that will help.

If you don't want ac on just set your temp point near your exterior point and let the fan blow away. This seems like you have already figured out that it will work that way.

What happens in the winter when it's below 62 degrees and you just want to let cool air in at like fan speed 1?

I would like to be able to use the front defroster on its own but it's another "feature" that doesn't work despite there being a mode for it.

But it's not like there is any other option.

They are absolutely not complementary to one another, as you correctly stated! But as you said, you are neither an Astro Physicist... or an Engineer.
It is a concept known as "trade offs", used in all design, maintenance, and life decisions. I am willing to give up MPG to have bigger tires, but I am not willing to give up MPG to run, ONLY, the fan.

I said I was not an astrophysicist and I'm well aware of the concept of tradeoffs' however your truck being a 23 never operated in this manner so what are you actually losing?
I also said I understood the desire for AS/S to work with just the fan on, I'd like that functionality back as well because mine actually did operate that way prior to the latest HVAC update. Now I turn the system completely off and crack a window or place the sunroof in vent mode

Which really makes sense because without the AC on, the set point may as well be outside temp as it's certainly not going to blow cooler than outside temp.

I'm guessing that if it's below 62° and you simply want to let cool air in via the fan, you could simply set the inside temp to low and it may be fine. I guess we'll see in a couple months but the few <50° mornings we've had here in Texas, I've set the inside temp to 65°- 68° and AS/S seemed to operate normally

You simply can not activate the hvac blower and not have the system on. Why not just set the system to auto temp that you like and let the fan blow. For example it was 42 degrees today and I just drove for 2 hours with the hvac on auto, temp set to 68, the fan was on at all times never turned off? Would that not work for what you want?

That's how I use mine. Auto works so well.

I've never used auto, it may be worth looking at but for this conversation, I don't know how it'd work relative to AS/S engaging and not engaging. Guess I'll soon see

The only time I've had it not work on auto is when I set the temp to high or low. Or when the AC is being turned on. But as long as it is at temp in the cabin, it works as intended.

If it's too hot or cold AS/S will not engage.
So generally it will always engage except on really hot days depending on inside temp, or really cold days on the first startup.

That's not true. We've had many over 90-degree days and with the interior temp set at 72, it engaged many times. Of course, it will start back up of I'm stopped too long and it needs to cool. Same with extreme cold. I was just in Miami with 92 and 76% humidity and it still worked.

What I said is true.
I had it set on 68 degrees today and it was 77 outside, it would not engage until the truck was on for 15-20 minutes and was able to cool down near the setpoint..
Outside temp does not matter, inside does.

All based on interior temp and hvac settings for this discussion. If on max cool or heat, AS/S will not work. If tomorrow is set to a specific temperature the interior needs to be near that for AS/S to work. 👍🏻

That's exactly the way mine operated before the update, if it didn't start soon enough, Id just bump the brakes

That may be true on newer versions of the HVAC controller but previous versions worked exactly as @vincentw56 described, i know mine did.

Not true for all trucks, I could get in my truck with it being 103°+ outside (and the truck have been sitting for hours), turn the AC on and have it set at low and stop for a light 1 min later and my AS/S would engage. The new controller is more aggressive at cabin temps and I suspect you don't have the newest controller (A/C And Heater Module - Mopar (68493386AC)) Its changed 3 times

What is desired low or high temp in the hvac system?

How is @vincentw56 description not how it works now? What he said has nothing to do with what I said about max hi/low temp settings.

My hvac module part number is 68493386AE.....
