RF Hub ?

I took my seat out and slipped a ziploc baggie over the top. It will hopefully divert any potential water from getting to it. I also silicones the window frame, new third brake light and sealed the shark fin. I also checked the vents on the back wall to be sure they were installed correctly. I also had ever so slightly signs of water stains but nothing actually felt wet. Fingers crossed.
Sounds like you have most of it covered.

Gents, I'm now on my 4th replacement RF hub and the dealership won't cover the cost. $1,300.00 bucks. I'm losing my S#!$ here.

Not very helpful[ful unless you post a little more details.

Sad part is the rf hub is less than $200, too bad alfa or jscan or something like that doesn’t have an option to program it

I
I thought it could. Don’t remember where I read it.

And why are you on your fourth one @jwpoole03
if it can I’d love to see a write up on that. That’s one of the things I hope to never have to face with this truck, but it wouldn’t be as big of a fear if I can program it myself

This maybe?

I’d like a bit of clarification on that. It says to program the fobs first. In order to program fobs the ignition must be on, and if your hub failed the truck doesn’t recognize the fob therefore you can’t turn the ignition on. I have a key programmer that does all keys lost, so maybe that’s an option, but I’d still like to know the actual process just so I know if it’s something I can do for myself or not

I would too. I’ve never replaced the RF hub

I looked again. I think the RF hub replacement procedure assumes you have good working keys when you perform it.

@Jimmy07 can you help?

Only two ways to program a new rf hub:
1)Dealership, or 2) a locksmith with NASTF credentials can use aftermarket witech account to retrieve the PIN and program the new rf hub.

FYI I am on my third RF Hub. First one was replaced under warranty. They said it wasn't due to water intrusion. Even though I think it was but they said it wasn't. Ok with me as warranty paid for it. Second one was from water intrusion thru the back window. First time they ordered new fobs under the warranty because they said you couldn't program the original fobs to the new hub. Ended up they could and I ended up with 4 fobs. Second time they quoted the new fobs and programming but my insurance paid the cost and again the dealer was able to program all four of my fobs to the new hub and I pocketed the new fob money from insurance.

Permatex is your friend

After the second one, I got a new window installed by Safelite with a lifetime warranty including consequential damage. Insurance paid for it.
That's a good thing. I'd still put some to greatly lessen the chance of water entry tho. Could save alot of headache

How did they put the bag on? Does the RF job get hot at all?
Took it off back wall and dropped in bag tapped it closed, and guess what window leaked again and so did third brake light . And bag saved me 3 back windows already

You say leaked again. Did you do any repair to the window or CHMSL ever?

Sounds like he wrapped the RF hub
