Am also interested in trying this.
It could help vent heat in offroad/slow/stopped situations. that could be considered "performance"It sounds like a cool idea based off older ideas. But this won't help with performance of the truck at all. This was a design for aesthetics and it does in fact look good. Does it matter if they are functional? Not at all.
If this was a thing then performance shops all over the place would be pushing the idea. Even when im at the track racing. Nobody has functional vents. This was a theory decades ago but doesn't hold much weight unless your pushing serious horsepower. The only advantage would be vents that allow air to run through the brakes to keep them cool. But otherwise there is nothing to really gain at allIt could help vent heat in offroad/slow/stopped situations. that could be considered "performance"
How did you open it up? Drilling?I opened mine up and you can see and feel the heat venting during idle.
did you just cut the little holes patiently with a small razor?I've had mine open for awhile. It works well at venting heat much like my Scat Pack Challenger hood.
The top of the vents are actually open you can see there is a drain hole in the bottom front of the vent.did you just cut the little holes patiently with a small razor?
