I have a 2019 Ram 1500 with 2,700 miles. I 've been having a squeaking noise from the passenger rear brake. It comes and goes when applying the brakes lightly. Took it to the dealership first time changed the pad. Second time they changed the rotor and pad. Third time they clean springs, shims and brackets. Stills squeaks. Has anyone had any problem with there breaks squeaking? And what has been done to stop the noise?

Thank you

Welcome to the forums and congrats on the truck! Do a little cruising around and you will find multiple threads on brake squealing issues, that lead to two different TSB's for it. One if for light pressure braking above 40-ish mph, and one is for loud groaning when reversing in cold / humid conditions when first moving the truck. Check out the Recalls / TSB section of the forum for the list and complete documents on both of these issues.

This is a very common complaint.

I've had a very loud howl from the rear brakes only when backing in cold and or cold/moist air, and really bad after a rain. My tech. ordered new rotors and pads in April of this year. The rotors came in after two weeks, but the pads didn't arrive until this past week. The rear pads have been changed to a new material (part number change). I have an appointment August 1st to install them. I'll let you know how it works.

Best regards,
Dusty

I had this same issue when backing up if the brakes had gotten wet. It was really loud. Almost more of a shudder than a squeal. My dealership ordered the redesigned brake pads and installed them about a month ago. It has totally solved the problem for me.

I have an odd issue and I know at least one other member had it as well with squeaking breaks.....when the brakes are not applied however. Like other cars, the brake pad rests on an anti-rattle clip. The clip has a coating on it, I believe it is called PTFE. That coating wears away and then you get the squeaking. Apply some brake grease to the clips (typical of any brake install) and it goes away. Mine did come back after I had the dealer address it once. Rather than go to the dealer again, I applied brake grease myself as I rotate my own tires and it was easy for me.

It has come back slightly again, next rotation, I'll attack it again until a good aftermarket pad set becomes available on the market.

I am having a similar scenario and have already had 2 service appointments. The first, the techs couldn't replicate the noise (difficult to believe) and the second appointment they said the same. Took the shop foreman for a ride and he was able to hear the noise. Opened a case thru Ram Care and they worked with the service team. Approval received to apply TSB for the backup noise which involves new pads, hardware and a couple of other items. Appointment isnt until 8/19. Dealer and Ram Cares aware that this must be resolved as this is not acceptable on any new vehicle, let alone one in this price structure. Hopefully, this will fix the issue.

Sadly the groaning/howling reverse brake issue is hard to replicate for the dealer... your best bet is to have the shop spray wash the rears and let it sit for a while. Then have the tech or service manager stand beside the truck and slowly back up and apply the brakes.

This worked for me and TSB was applied immediately.

The TSB was applied on 8/19, which did not fix the issue. Called the dealer who asked me to bring it back and hear a video from another customer that may be the same issue. Listened to the video and it had the same noise. They determined the issue the front brake pads (yep, I mentioned it to them previously). They replaced the pads and after 4 service visits, it appears to be fixed.
