The backside of park lockout mechanism.
I've looked up there 3 times and felt for glue with not even a clue. Thanks for the photo with location and the solution to my quest. I can finally get that "Foreigner" song out of my head, see post 10.
Any idea why it's there, doesn't seem too important from the looks.

No idea really, my be some type of indicator that the mechanism was used, because if you do, this will likely come off in the process. Nonessential to me.

Yes, still stuck there at about 8.5k miles. No idea who, what or why...if it ends up on the floor, I'll toss it.
Thanks bud, yeah i'll just toss it then. I have 12K and change on the odo. Bet they're using mileage specific glue. lol.

Hello everyone! I wanted to have this looked into further before commenting on the thread. I have been advised that the foam patch is used to prevent buzz/squeak/rattle noises. As long as you are not hearing any unusual noises from the instrument panel, the part does not need to be replaced.

Should anyone need to work with their dealer due to this, we are more than happy to escalate a case on your behalf for further support.

Nice little Easter Egg. Maybe someone was putting it there for when the customer had any future squeaks, they could grab that and use it. :p :ROFLMAO:

You are the best. Thanks, this blind man can now see. So much for above the gas pedal!
Ram Cares should give you a job or at the very least an acknowledgement for your service to their customer base. Post #27 seems to be lacking, particularly in satisfying my inquisitiveness. Makes me wonder what the background is for the Ram Cares key board puncher.

If it makes you feel better, my late 2019 build (20 MY) doesn’t appear to have the pad.
