Can the bed divider be retro-fitted into a 2019 1500 with the RamBox setup? I’ve read where 2019 trucks did not get them.

Also discovered my truck came originally came with a “tri-fold tonneau” ($550 on the sticker) which has disappeared at some point in the intervening years. Any recommendations as to what to replace it with? Thank you.

It's no retrofit. You can use the Rambox bed divider from any Ram truck from 2009 thru 2025. They all have the same dimensions. Starting with the 5th gens in 2019, you only got the bed divider for the Rambox option if you also got the Bed Utility Group (BUG). No BUG, no bed divider. I found that out the hard way LOL.

I have an OEM tri-fold tonneau cover that's not being used. It would be expensive to ship though. Where are you located? You can use other bed covers but you may need to swap out your black utility rails for the silver ones that are located slightly different than the black ones.

Mikeru82 speaks the truth. Been through this. If your truck had the factory cover, you’ll need to get that cover or get the standard silver rails and swap out the black ones. Most ( if not all? ) aftermarket covers are designed to use their mounting systems with the standard silver rails.
If you don’t have a bed divider, try Facebook Marketplace or eBay for a used one. They are keyed to lock with your truck key, so a used one would need to be rekeyed if you want to be able to lock it. I’ve had Ramboxes since 2015 and I don’t ever lock it, but I have a Retrax Rolling cover, so there’s no access to “sticky fingers”

The Bed Utility Group is on the window sticker for my truck, so I guess someone else wanted that divider at some point. Nice to know I can add it back though.

I figured as much about the cover; my local Ram dealer quoted me $1900 for that one on Monday. 😬

Is that just for the cover or the whole kit? I personally didn’t like the Mopar folding cover but it did what it was intended to do. I wanted something more secure and I ended up with a Retrax.

If you have the BUG then your truck came with the bed divider. I wasn't sure if you were the original buyer of this truck or not. It's common for people to hang onto the bed divider when they sell or trade their truck in. I kept the bed divider from my first 5th gen. But in that case the truck didn't come with the BUG and I had to pay for the bed divider myself. The cost was just over a grand. The dealership agreed to pay half the cost because they also thought it should have come with the Rambox option like it did with 4th gens. So now we have two bed dividers for our 2020 Limited lol.

I have a barely used OEM tonneau in my garage and would sell it for a good price if you happen to live near Connecticut and can pick it up. As someone else mentioned though, it would probably cost a small fortune to ship.

No, sir, not the original owner. Just got it last week. Negotiated a sizable discount because the tonneau cover and bed divider were missing, and I’d seen the window sticker online.

Does the RamBox bed require a specific bed divider like it does tonneau cover?

Sure do appreciate your offer, but I’m in north central Arkansas. I’ve seen a few RamBox covers around already online… it will just be a matter of finding a cover in my $$$ range.

The rambox bed has many slots where he bed divider can be placed depending on how you want to divide the bed up. I haven't seen much in the way of aftermarket bed dividers that are as versatile as the one specifically made for the rambox system. Plus, it can also be used as a bed extender if you add the mounting pegs from a 4th gen (direct bolt on). Here's just one of the many threads that talk about that...

Frankierider2, the Rambox dividers will fit from any truck that came with the rambox regardless of length. You can still get, or could get the 6.7’ bed with a 2500. Different style lids but inside dimensions are the same. Like I said before, if you don’t get a key with a used one, you would need to get it re=keyed to match your truck key.

Yes, I understand… but does the same divider fit all beds, or does the RamBox bed require a specific divider? May not have been clear earlier. Sorry.

The Rambox divider is completely different (and much more solid in the way it locks into the sides of the bed).

And as someone else said, Facebook Marketplace is your friend for the divider. It took me a couple of weeks of looking but found one for $40 and spent another $35 rekeying it and then added the mounts to make it an extender - all in <$100. Good luck.

Thanks… would someone be kind enough to post a photo of their RamBox bed divider for me to use as reference? Want to get the right thing and all…
