I have a 2021 Ram 1500 Limited and my ram box driver side started the issue yesterday while driving and here at work I tested it a few times and it would unlock itself and open . You can’t manually lock the box by key . It’s done it twice this morning here at work this morning .
I picked it up in Oct 2020 special order and paid for all the bells and whistles so as much as I paid for it I would expect not to have this issue . The dealership ordered bed extender pins supposedly in Oct 2020 and they are saying they are back ordered 8 months later . Any one else have problems getting bed extender pins also .

Hi Everybody...I'm new here.

Got a 2021 1500 with Ram Boxes about 6 weeks ago. Yesterday the driver's side Ram Box lid started popping open when I would unlock the truck. I noticed it would pop open about 30 seconds after I unlocked the truck. Also, it popped open while driving today. Frustrating. I guess I'll be taking it back to the dealer soon.
I Googled the problem today and found many complaints about this problem. I would think RAM would do a recall on it.

Does anybody know if there is a recall?

Hello Everyone! Below is a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) that may apply to the vehicle concerns described. Ram Cares recommends visiting your dealer to have a technician review both the details of the TSB and your vehicle to determine if it applies. As always, for added support throughout the duration of your dealership appointment be sure to shoot a private message our way! We would love to assist.

NOTE, this TSB is applicable for 2020-2021 DT Ram 1500 Pickups.

Thanks for the info so far. Do you know if this was ever an official TSB as I was not able to fine one on this issue specifically. The Dealership was not able to find one either. I have an appointment in a few weeks to take the truck in, but I have a feeling it will be a an issue with the dealership not being able to replicate the problem. Mine is on the passenger side to make things more complicated as the yet unposted TSB23-012-21 is for the drivers side. Any advice on how to get this fixed? Thanks -

On or about 12/23/20, Ram issued an alert to its dealerships regarding this issue. On certain trucks the wiring harness on the drivers side dips low inside the bay that holds the Rambox. When water gets in there and into the harness it releases the latch as though you pushed the button. There is a now a fix for this specific issue -- if you have a low harness, they will replace it with one that sits high in the bay so that it is not exposed to water.
Where can we find this dealer alert? Anytime I have to go to the stealership with a problem like this, they will not do anything unless they can replicate the problem.
