Ram 1500 coolant smell

How high up on the dipstick is it now? Did it fix the smell?
Was at low limit. Now right at max.

Drove all day and when parking in the garage I didn’t smell the usual antifreeze odor even an hour later. Used to linger for quite some time till the truck cooled off completely. Time will tell but already seems better.

The color is confusing because it visually looks like one color when viewing on the dipstick and radiator, then when you put it on a paper towel it's clearly another. I think it looks orange but actually purple, or vice versa. Either way, that's the right coolant, it's pretty much all they carry at the dealership.
The OEM Ram OAT coolant is actually purple if you put it in a glass jar. On the Mopar container it says MS 90032. I don't know why they make the whole thing so mysterious. They should just write OAT really big on the container, then HOAT on the container for it. I think HOAT is typically more orangish in color.

I have a 4th generation 2018 Tradesmen with Pentastar, but was just reading through this thread. Mine has had a faint whiff of coolant from the front passenger side, ever since I purchased it. I've always written it off to odor escaping from the expansion tank. I usually smell it when stopping after a long drive, then it dissipates. Nothing inside the cab. It doesn't seem to be using coolant, so I've never worried about it much. it's at about 58,000 miles right now, and I've never noticed any overheating issues.

Can't remember if I updated this thread or another. Over 75k miles on my truck. Overflow tank topped off once because dipstick was dry. That was at like 30k miles . Coolant still full, dipstick clean no build up on it. And I still get the coolant smell on a hot engine every now and then. It's a non-issue unless you are constantly losing coolant or see drips in the ground

The clean white paper towel trick worked for me, just dipped a tip in the top of the radiator and bright purple.
