Has anyone looked into doing this yet? I know the 14.4" screens are just being released but wonder if the module is the same as the 12" screen.

I seriously doubt it will be possible. The canbus is different for the 2025+ trucks.

Plus if you're going from a 2019 you have UC4, so it's a completely different jump to UC5 hardware.

Yes, but that part has already been done as you can install the UC5 12" in UC4 equipped vehicles. The issue will be communicating with the BCM on the older vehicles.

I want to do this on my 2020 uc4. Anyone know if it’s possible?

The module for 25+ 12" screens is the same as 24, 68583503AE, so if 14" screens also use this same module, maybe it's doable for 22-24 trucks (and 19-21 with Uconnect 5 upgrade)?

68583503AE Is actually not used in 2024 trucks, it’s incorrect info on the parts sites. I ordered that one thinking it was for a 2023, installed it in our 2019 and it wouldn’t fire up. I got it to work because I figured out it was configured for Atlantis architecture, and had to change it to powernet 2 architecture, but anyone else (including dealer techs) would just return the radio thinking it was defective.

I’m sure the 14” screen would work, to some extent (not sure about the park assist and trailer brake control), but at $2900 for the screen (plus $400 for the center dash bezel for it), that’s a tough pill to swallow just to buy and try right now.

Hi Jimmy I would like to know how complicated it is to configure the P68583503AE mod again to powernet 2 and if it is worth it?
What do you recommend?

Nice tech tip and info.

Considering some companies are offering Uconnect 5 12" upgrades for $3,200, going with a 14" doesn't seem too bad. I want to do a screen upgrade soon, my 8.4" is delaminating and rather just replace with a bigger screen than deal with the dealer for another 8.4" that will likely do the same thing 2 years from now. Though I may want to have them fix it under warranty and sell it off later.

Been keeping an eye out on eBay for used units, but they are all scratched up and questionable. May even consider a Android 12" unit instead.

The 8.4" can be repaired so you don't have to deal with the delamination. You just have to use the correct screen that doesn't have the delamination defect in it from factory. That way once repaired the screen will never delaminate ever again. That's how we repair these units.
