How has your fuel economy been with the Hurricane? I love that my EcoDiesel can consistently get 27-30 MPG. I was originally all for the Hurricane engine and then I read that it requires the highest/most premium gasoline, which is substantially more than diesel in my area. That really scared me away, especially if the MPG is more like a Hemi than an ED.
I track every fill-up in Fuelly (so, all hand-calculated).
I tracked 59,390 miles in my '21 EcoDiesel and averaged 21.5 over that. I had the GDE tune for most of that. I also had aftermarket 20" wheels with 33" tires for most of that, too.
In my '19 with a Hemi/eTorque, I tracked 71,704 miles and averaged 14.1. It had the same 20" wheels and tires that I later moved over to the '21.
I've only tracked 2,011 miles in the '25 HO, so far. And that mileage has included 2 road trips from Columbia, SC, to Morehead City, NC, and a day run from Morehead City to Durham, NC, and back. So, mostly highway miles where I set the cruise at 10 MPH over the speed limit. My average so far is 16.1.
I suspect once my driving has had more time to "normalize" - i.e. a higher percentage of in-town driving - my average will settle in to probably a little worse than I got with the Hemi. Factoring in that I'm running stock wheels/tires, that really means notably worse than the Hemi. But, we'll see...
I bought it expecting all that. Poor fuel economy and paying for Premium gas. I'm okay with that. I wanted the performance and I bought in knowing what the cost would be. I only bought it to carry me for 3 years or so until I can buy a Ramcharger (after they've had at least 2 years to work the bugs out of that). I'll pay a lot for gas but have 3 years of FUN driving!
