Question About Tow/Haul Mode

Even then it’s not a real hit. I’m still average 17.5 around town over the last 200 miles.

Just on the highway it rarely kicks into 8th.

On my wish list for the perfect truck is being able to select which modes remain in there last position after the vehicle is shutdown.

I understand Tow/Haul decreases mileage but it should remain active for the calendar day.

Same for heated / cooled seats, heated steering wheel, HVAC and other stuff that you shouldn’t have to reset every time you get out of the vehicle.

At midnight the truck resets for the next day but if I’m in and out of the truck all day long and it’s snowing then I want my heated seat warming my bottom every time too.

On a Rebel with 33" tires and 3.92 axle that gets 13.5 mpg around town in normal mode, trust me, it's a hit. But like your example, everyone is different, elevation, traffic all play a role in how our mpg is hit.

What's interesting is when I'm in T/H mode, my truck always goes into 8th once I hit cruising speed.

No way in hell would my truck avg 17.5 in town! I'd be overjoyed if it did. I realize this is a T/H appreciation thread, but I dislike T/H cause it disable the Start/Stop and frankly, in my opinion, that would be where/when a person would most need that

I agree with this so much.

Actually, what would be perfect is if we could link those types of settings to our profile, and then create multiple profiles that we could switch on the fly depending on what we're doing.

Hitting the highway in the summer? Profile gives you a more leaned back seat position, makes sure you're in 2WD and that tow/haul is off, and your vent seat is on.

Going off road in the fall? Seat sits you up more, sets 4WD High and turns traction control off, turns your seat heater on, pops you into OR1 (w/air sus).

Cruising your hilly neighborhood in the winter? 4WD Auto, tow/haul on, heated seats and steering wheel, turns off aero mode, etc.

That would be amazing.

Hey @RamCares !!

You mean like the Chevy Corvette? I was just thinking of this yesterday. Some functions need to be de-linked as well, like traction control resetting when switching from 2wd to 4wd.
