2021 Bighorn Night Edition with 47,500 miles. Just a few minutes ago went to crank her up and nothing. Just the dash display saying to Push brake and start. I stepped outside of the truck and then used the remote start and she fired right up. However, when I tried to hit the Push button to engage the rest of the truck.......nothing. The only way to turn it off was to hit the remote start again. I am not sure if this is a RF Hub issue because I can crank it with the fob. My wife thinks the Push start has gone out but damn, after only 47,500 miles? Before I have to have this big ol baby towed to a repair shop I thought I would ask the experts here what they thought. I am all eyes and look forward to any helpful replies.

Get your battery check. I know it sounds silly but I know someone this happened to and it was the battery.

So I went to try it again and it fired up......drove around the block and then back in the driveway and I couldn't shut it off with the push button. It idled for about 5- 8 minutes while I was getting my tools to disconnect the battery and I tried it once more to turn off and it did. But refuses to crank again. I will take out the battery first thing tomorrow and get it checked at Autozone. I am really hoping this is it and thank you so much for your replay. I sincerely hope it is the silly battery.

I hope it is your battery, but it could still be your RF Hub. They don't always catastrophically fail. Sometimes it is intermittent. Assuming you checked your FOB batteries? Or saw same behavior from both your FOBs? My issue was a catastrophic RF Hub failure but even with that it did fire up for a minute during all my tinkering. But it also shut back off on its own. I couldn't even unlock the doors with mine. And when I used the key in the door slot it set off my alarm which I couldn't stop except by disconnecting the battery. I had to have mine towed to the dealer which was diagnosed within minutes as the RF Hub. Luckily I had a warranty and it was covered. Let us know the result.

The FOB will crank it remotely. I plan to replace my FOB Battery this morning as soon as a Autozone opens as I was told that the Fob should start the truck if I hold it to the push start button and that does not happen. I CAN lock and unlock the doors with the fob as well.

I doubt it's the RF hub if you can remote start it with the fob. That's the main purpose of the RF Hub after all. I suspect your wife is correct and the push button is failing. It's an inexpensive item and is simple to replace yourself. I'd try that before messing with the battery even, but it won't hurt to test the battery if it's the original one.

X2, I would start with replacing Start/Stop switch. I had a similar problem, could Remote Start with Key Fob but would shut off when I depressed Start/Stop button. I would get no response when I pushed the Start/Stop Switch.

It won't start or stop with the Start/Stop switch. I replaced the FOB battery but no change.

So if the RF Hub has failed I could not start the truck remotely...........is that correct?

If the RF hub fails you can't do anything with the fob. When mine failed, the truck was completely dead except for the alarm (when I used the physical key to unlock the door). I had no way to turn the alarm off except to disconnect the battery.

Yesterday the battery went completely dead so took it to Autozone and replaced it with a brand new one. The dead one was OEM and it is a 2021 so instead of a charge I just bought new one. Installed and did not fix the issue. I really believe it is the Start/Stop switch so getting that replaced today.

Seems the culprit was indeed the Start/Stop switch which when it died, was pulling a parasitic charge from the battery. I replaced the battery first, and the next day it too was dead. Replaced the switch and charged the new battery back up and all is good. I need to listen to my wife more often............she was spot on in her diagnoses. LOL.

Make sure you give her credit for this one (if you haven’t already). It’s just part of the happy wife happy life theory. Which in reality is pretty spot-on.

Took me this long in life to get on with that program, sort of... But in reality, it is a two way street.
Best acid test for compatibility is, can you both stay civil while both of you are cooking and sharing the same kitchen?
Now back to truck stuff...
