Hi Tmcb,
We're very sorry to hear about this happening to your brand new truck! At your earliest convenience, please send us a private message with your VIN so we can look into this further.

Guess what.????? I actually got to drive mine new 2019 RAM Longhorn for about 16 hours and now it has been in the shop for almost two weeks. I was driving when the cruise control stopped and had an error. I took it to the shop....they replaced the ABS module and then the front camera and now are telling me it still it not working right. SOOOOOOO frustrated. They say they are waiting to hear back from the manufacturer what to do next.....I TOLD them I KNOW WHAT to do NEXT.....put me a new one on the truck and delivery it to me. I can't believe this is happening. I am a loyal RAM owner.

Hey @bdusenbury welcome to the forum. That’s a disappointing beginning to your truck ownership for sure. I think having a malfunction is one thing, but to have the service department not know how to fix it... boy that’s another. @RamCares does monitor this site and often will ask for your VIN in a private message to help any complaint cases along; you could send them a note now. Your best bet though is usually to start with the service department manager to explain what’s going on. If you can’t get real help there, since service departments vary from good to awful, I would look for a higher quality service department if that’s an option. Finally you can open a case with RamCares so they can help out from afar. Hope things work out so you can start enjoying that truck!

I'm having the same issues as you are from #'s 1, 3, 4, and 7 on your list.
-The worst is the WHISTLE coming from the vent/recirculation! Like...I sometimes don't even drive my $60,000 truck if I need to go above 50! Took it on a long road trip and it whistled the ENTIRE TRIP!! The dealership said they looked online and saw a video about the vent and recirculation. It definitely changes when I turn those on and off but it's always there! The mechanic told me to maybe just not use that!!!! Seriously?
-And my AC seems like it just NEVER get cold! Blows cool air maybe...but it never cools down. It's really bad.
-I have to turn my truck off and on sometimes to get the 12" screen to work. It's usually just black. which means you have no controls for anything!
-And I had the same issue with my odometer vs. "distance traveled" or whatever they call it in the nav area. off by over 5,000 miles! This truck didn't travel 5,000 miles to the dealership.

I've been MORE than annoyed with this entire experience. If I could go back and get my 2012 F150 back that I traded I would in a heartbeat. Especially for a sticker price of $64,000.

Has anyone heard anything about any fixes for these things? I haven't heard a word from my dealership after they told me to just not use the recirculation! Really??? Don't use a feature on your brand new truck? that's the fix????

I have finally been able to get back in a truck, long story. I took my time and searched around and finally decided on a 2019 RAM. Haven't even driven it a week and now its been back at the dealership for over two weeks. I'm having the same whistling noise coming from the AC and not really cooling as it should. It was put together poorly, so they had to take it apart and are waiting on parts. The passenger side speakers don't work. As far as I am concerned it is damaged goods to me now and I have 0 interest in this new truck of mine. As you know it is never the same once you take it apart. I'm furious and the only thing that can make this better is to put me in a new one. Contacted RAM directly and they said they will do their best to expedite the part. That's it!!! Disappointed!!!

Same thing happened to me. I too asked for a different truck. The dealer said yes but would not give me the full value back as it is now “used” with 500 miles on it. They eventually solved that problem. Now my breaks squeak. I am waiting for parts but told it could be month or two.

Two days after purchase (3rd 2019 contract as prior commitments by dealer fell thru) my warning lights came in for cruise control, adaptive cruise, trailer brakes, lane departure and abs. Dealer said they reset the codes. Three days later same issue. Has the truck two weeks and one week of that it has been in the shop. 60k spend and have no confidence in this truck.[/QUOTE

I had same issue. 3 times to dealer in 3 weeks. Started at 150 miles on the truck. They replaced a sensor on transfer case. Problem back within 50 miles. Took back. Claimed there was a software update hidden that was supposed to be done with sensor. Went almost 500 miles then it was back. This time with the added feature of locking the trans in 1st. Shut truck off and restart got problem fixed (everytime) long enough to get it back to dealer. This time they said they found connector not fully locked into transmission control module. I have 2200 miles now and issue has not reared its ugly head. We bought 2 19 Ram Bighorns and 1 19 Cherokee at the same time. 130,000.00 in vehicles in one day. The other Ram makes a hum/howling at low rpm in any gear. Today the 3 timer started a rythematic hum/vibration while low speed. It's loud. I can feel it in the pedals. I stopped truck, shut it off, restarted and it was gone. I'm really concerned these trucks are gonna be nothing but problems. So far the truck has over 200 miles dealer testing miles and 60.00 in fuel expenses just taking back and forth to dealer and them "testing" . I got new vehicles so I wouldn't have problems, and if I did, someone else was paying to fix it. Guess I underestimated my expenses for fixing a new truck.

I took my truck in with 300 miles on the odometer this past week for the squeaky brakes. I provided my service advisor the Star Case # from the thread below and a copy of the RO shared by one of the members. They ordered new rotors and brake pads for my truck and should hopefully have it fixed soon. Currently driving with squeaky brakes until the parts arrive.

Hey All
My truck is less than 3 weeks old and I have had mine go to the dealer for the service axle locker code that keeps popping up as I drive. The unfortunate part that it’s a code that not sticking around and disappears
The dealer as usual looks at me and says there is no service bulletin on it and they don’t know yet so I should continue to keep an eye onit.
Obviously this is driving me nuts especially the truck doesn’t even have 700kms yet ( Yes it’s a Canadian vehicle )
Any updates?

I have a new 2019 bighorn with the same cabin noise that you’re hearing if you put 500 to 600 pounds in the truck it makes this really bad harmonics sound it’s been at the dealer for two weeks they’ve replaced modules, microphone, speakers and they are still unable to Determine the cause they say they will need the truck for another eight weeks so they can get somebody from Detroit down to look at it any suggestions on what I can do ?

Has pretty good reviews. It may take time but however long it takes at the end of the day you want to be made whole (dollar wise)

Hi eliasgzz,
I want to apologize that you are experiencing all of this with your new truck. If you plan to continue working with your dealership to have your concerns addressed, you can send me a private message and I would be happy to get you set up with a Case Specialist who will work with your dealer to look for potential solutions.
Lydia,
Ram Social Care Specialist

Sadly, FCA let's dealers get away with murder. Dealers are favored over customers. FCA employees based on my own extensive experiences word complaint in such a way as to allow dealers to actually deny service. Case in point my new 2017 Rubicon, has like many Jeeps water leaks at drivers door. BOTH FCA & dealer required me to disassemble my Jeep removing roof rack, roof and other parts BEFORE they would open the door and replace the door seal to fix the leak. When a case was opened, FCA repeated the dealer demands and did nothing. FCA will either have to step up and remember who pays their bills (customers) or they will get eaten alive by FORD & GM.

As far as my 2019 Ram 1500, I have had NO problems as of yet, and purposely did not buy a HEMI with etorque knowing bugs always exist in new experiment. I equipped my truck with options that have been around for a while for the most part.
