Price negotiated from MSRP

@Juiced6 Looking at both deals, the second deal (Hydro Blue Rebel) seems to be the better of the two as your closing in on roughly $10K off MSRP, which I feel is decent on the Rebels. Ram is currently only offering up to $2,000 in incentives on the Rebels, so it would appear that the dealer has a decent dealer discount they're offering. And I personally wouldn't skip out on the color you prefer. If your only hesitation on the Hydro Blue Rebel is the E-Torque, I wouldn't let that stop you.

Nobody can tell you that as nobody knows. FWIW they have gotten worse from Apr to May and from May to Jun which is the opposite of a typical year. With the factory open and running full shifts through the typical summer break, inventories are increasing so I would expect July to be better as 2021s will also be built in Jul/Aug.

First vehicle I have ever ordered.....
To find a big horn, Quad cab, 6'4" box, with night edition in the wrong color with added stuff I didn't need....I would have had to go 561 miles away.
(tried dealer trade but nobody will since supply is so short)

Last week Tuesday I decided to throw the idea around about maybe building instead with my local dealer. He punched in the basics and said its good to go. I said I would be back with my final choices. I went home to build it up over and over so not to forget something.
Two days later sat down built the truck to order and it says "Restriction" I was told this meant the manufacture was not accepting new builds until at least next month some time.
If I have to wait not knowing when or if an order will go through and be started, I said I would just wait for the 2021's since the're not that far out now.

New car anxiousness...
Stopped in today simply to ask what they had on order from the manufacturer, wondering if something might be close to being delivered, that I could jump at before anyone else knew.
Unfortunately everything with a VIN wasn't going to work. There was a single truck on order that had most of what I wanted but with extra stuff. Best part.. no VIN yet. I asked if it could be modified and he didn't know. tap, click, tap and he says sure looks like I can. He was able to change the color, packages, and remove stuff to make it exactly how I wanted it.

Now I have my exact truck on order essentially using their place to get in line, bypassing the restriction, and now moving up since it's a customer sold order.

MSRP: 49,195 (Invoice was 46,319)
Dealer discount: 4,301 = 44,894 (8.75% off) (EP was 44,203)
Incentives: 7,000 (using what I qualify for this month, a few locked in)

Total 38,394 (22% off MSRP)

My trade: 06 F150 w/ 177,000 miles in rough shape covered the sales tax. lol 2,800

I know it's not the best deal I could have got, but around here they are not budging much at all since inventory on the lots is half or less then usual. ( I had to drive 1 1/2hr away to just see a quadcab in person to decide if I even wanted one)
I believe I could have negotiated some acc. like a bed liner and something in there, but my normal forgetfulness screwed me there.
I am content and I guess that's all that matters.
Sorry for the long ramble.
Now the waiting game!!

That seems like a great deal. I wish the incentives in my area were that good!
I got a great dealer discount but only $2500 in rebates. Hoping they are better when the truck arrives. I got my VIN today.

Anybody know about the Fourth of July Sales Event?..

First.. congratulations. Ive always wanted to order, but always chickened out.

Dealer trades are funny.. when I sold, it wasn't uncommon to find the vehicle that oddly enough the customer saw already elsewhere. I was with one couple who drove the exact Sonata we traded for out of Cincinnati, yet she never realized it was the same car until paperwork was signed.

My truck, I couldn't find what I wanted within 250 miles. I was prepared to settle on leaving a couple options out, but then while the lot 30 miles up the road wouldn't answer the phone, a lot in Georgia (I was working with a guy in Dayton OH) called wanting a Grand Cherokee and offered up my truck as trade.

It was trailered up on Thursday/Friday and I picked it up on a Saturday.

I'm still watching numbers closely, and suspect the lack of supply will probably result in low interest rate deals only. Though it's clear new stock is being delivered.

Just my observations from the trucks I have saved on the cars app Rebels are still selling but Limited's seem to have slowed down. Anecdotal but hope this means some decent rebates on Limited's in the next couple months

They are advertising July 4th Event on Social Media, but it seems there is nothing on the website?..

Probably off topic for this thread, but... Anyone have any ideas for how the 2021 F150 announcement on 6/25 will effect July RAM rebates? I'm also waiting on 2021 Silverado and 2021 RAM announcements which I'm not aware that they even have an event date picked. RAM only seems to be leaking info on TRX. However, I think the redesigns being announced will start to push down prices (increased rebates?) to make sure they sell current model year instead of having people wait on 2021s. Especially now that production is up and running again.

Does anyone put any stock into the KBB, Edmunds, and True Car fair purchase, true market value, market average, similar cars sold for prices? Common thought on this thread is we should be targeting 10-15% dealer discounts. When using any of those sites I typically see 8-9% or less as the prices they suggest paying, with KBB barely sneaking into 10-11% at the very bottom end of the their fair purchase range. Should the numbers on these sites be taken with a grain of salt since perhaps they’re in cahoots with the dealers and/or manufacturer? Or should I expect to lower my bar a little bit since most of this data is based on a zip code specific search and trucks may bring more money in my area than some others? When I’m ready to buy I won’t be afraid to travel, but also don’t want to throw out unrealistic numbers that won’t be taken seriously either.

Depends on how far you are willing to travel. Two dealers in the DC area will do 6-8 percent below “invoice” price plus rebates at time of delivery. You may want to target that price point because we know it’s doable based on many here on this forum that have bought from them, me included. You can go to NADA website and build your truck with what you are looking for in truck/options. Once done, it will give you MSRP & invoice pricing. Then you can do the 6-8% off invoice price and I would make that my target price plus rebates at time of delivery. Keep in mind a lot of us (me included) have tried to get our local dealers to match these two dealers DC to no avail. One guy on here was successful in GA to get his local dealer to match the 8% under invoice. But most dealers won’t do it. I do not know the reason why either. Could it be that those two dealers in DC are mega volume dealers? Surely there are other high volume dealers in different parts of the country. But they seem to draw the line in the sand to take their not so good offer in price or they won’t sell it to you. So you will need to do your own research and see what your target price is and then start sending out the emails to the dealers stating what you are looking for and ask them to give you their lowest price before rebates. Check their inventory to make sure they have what you are looking for. Ask them to put it in writing. Good Luck!!

And no I do not trust Truecar as I have read that they are indeed in Kahoots with the dealers!!

Which dealers in the DC area are you referring to? I'm down south but willing to travel because the deals down here are terrible right now.

Koons and Criswell are the dealers in the DC area. Their ads are to the right side of these pages. I live in GA and ordered from Koons. Got 8% below invoice plus available rebates at time of delivery. I did everything by email and a phone call. Should be delivered 6/22-7/6. Paul G got his from Criswell.
