Preventing Theft - kill switch

Sometimes simple is not a bad thing. The actual thief is not as smart as one might think they are, they work for someone that tells them what to do. For example, there are no specialists working on stealing a certain vehicle, so the ones that are stealing any vehicle just tries what he is told will work, if it doesn't, he moves on.

Ghost II immobilizer, can’t start or by pass or reprogram a new key, you need to press a sequence of buttons on your steering wheel to start the vehicle. It can still remotely start if you chose too but before driving off you need to enter the code. Also has hijack mode, this is great!!! If you’re at the lights and someone hijacks you, once your drivers door is opened and closed, your vehicle will shut down in about a blocks distance if the code isn’t initiated.

Ghost II is name IGLA uses for the UK market. It looks like they use that name in Canada too.

Anyone with a drill can defeat those in less than a minute.
I think with all the tech now a days people aren’t running around with drill in hand and bolt cutters. Maybe a saws all for catalytic converters but that’s all I assume criminals carry now a days

They actually do. A lot of thieves drill a hole in the window to pop up the door lock. A Dremel will easily fit in a jacket pocket.

Just another solution in the long list of options- similar to igla, but they’ll sell it directly to you so you can install yourself:
