Does anyone have a 2025 with power multifunction tailgate? My new Longhorn is supposed to have it but the power raise of the tailgate doesn't work, only the power release/lower. Any inpit will be greatly appreciated.

The one I have is down only. Check your window sticker. They may have deleted it. Check if there is some sort of button on the left side of the tailgate. The power up models have a manual switch like SUV's.

there is an option for disabling the power close tailgate in the touchscreen menu, but as others have said, the MFT may not have it. Also holding the tailgate release button on the remote should close it.

Sorry to jump your thread OP, but is this an option on older Gen 5 trucks, power up?
My 23 Limited has MFT and tailgate down…but pressing twice, holding on second press just activates the unlock feature…

Didn’t know power up was an option.

Since the MFT is heavier I’m not surprised the power close only applies to the regular tailgate.

Thanks very much everyone for all the feedback, and I am now coming to terms with the fact that the MFT doesn't have the Power Up feature, but I wish that Mother MOPAR would be indelibly clear about this, Yes or No.

Even my dealer friend isn't sure about this, and he's reached out to the Ram folks that should be in the know, but to date, no answer. If, stressing if, I get a conclusive answer from the Corporate Crew, I'll post it here.

I gotta be honest… in just over a year of owning mine (Aug 2023) I’ve probably lowered the tailgate either by the button overhead or the key fob less than a handful of times.
I am, however, getting better at using the MFT, opening it up L&R instead of just lowering the whole tailgate.

Over 18 years of full size RAM ownership…. Dropping a tailgate is like riding a bike.
The ability to split open and get “in” your truck bed is simply amazing.

Sorry to take this one off track.

After seeing this I plan on swapping to a tailgate with the manual handle. I can't stand the electric tailgate handle.

This only shows the standard tailgate.

This video fails to mention the button on the left side of the tailgate that you can press to close it. I wish someone would have mentioned the button to me since I didn't realize it was there.

Not sure where you think you'll find one of those. All 5th gen 1500 tailgates are electric. 4th gen tailgates are not a direct swap. So you'll need to make/modify your own if you want a tailgate with a manual release.

Just found mine as well -- great addition!

2025 Laramie here with Level 2, bed and tow packages, tech group, advanced safety, sunroof, and multifunction tailgate.

Though the Level 2 package clearly says “power tailgate,” I don’t even appear to have a power down function; nothing on the overhead console and not on the key fob. Can only open the tailgate at the tailgate.

What is it about my options that completely deleted even the power down function? I get why there is not power up …..

Just because RAM’s site says you get it doesn’t mean you get it. Case in point is on the bighorn, with the bed package, it states you get a bed divider. That is only true if you get ram boxes. The web site nowhere states this. False advertising? Probably.

Additionally, if you buy the bighorn 2 package, you get power folding mirrors - unless you pay more to add the towing package, then you get manually folding mirrors. RAM’s MO on options is you pay more to get less.

I think because you have the multi function tailgate. I'm not sure if it is available on the multi function. I have a Laramie with level 2 and standard tailgate that comes with power up and down. The multi function tailgate replaces the power tailgate.

Thanks. It looked like in some of the previous posts that power down should be there for MF tailgates, but perhaps not. Or, like I wondered, some other option triggered the power down delete.

I have a 2023 Limited with MFT and it does indeed work power down. Just doesn’t power up.
I think that’s what USMUSL is asking…
