So 2 weeks ago finally got back into a truck after being with out one for two years. I bought a 2022 ram Laramie with the etorque. All of the sudden it started having trouble charging the battery randomly. Some days it’ll be perfectly fine and then boom randomly I’ll start getting the low voltage battery alert and it’ll drop down in the 11’s. I replaced the 12 volt battery and it did not fix the issue. It’s currently throwing these codes with a check engine light. The dealership is going to try and see if they can get it goodwilled from ram since it’s at 81k miles.

It’s strange to me that it’s it’s throwing a state of high and low charge. If anyone has seen this any information would be much appreciated. I’ve literally only had it for two weeks and commute two hours a day round trip for work.

Mannn if only I knew before I bought it. When I first looked them up I couldn’t really find anything bad now all I’m finding is a massive back order.

I hear that. I wanted the GT package on mine, and the only option at the time was Etorque only. lucky us.

Yes, sir I have 2022 Ram Laramie with the eTorque and had the same codes at 10,000 miles 6-2025 so they did reprogram so have to go back into the dealer 01-22-2026 for a P0A7D code @ 11,122 miles on the clock. Love this truck, but just the eTorque don't like.
I see they are putting this same set up in the new Ram 5.7 Hemi eTorque 2026 have to see if they fixed anything.

Hi all
Update on the P0A7D code, my truck is at RAM dealer's shop, they are telling me is a shorted 48-volt battery. Now it's a 2022 and covered under the 8-80 so I ask them how long it would take to fix the say they don't know could be up to 8 months or more this is not a good thing it's very bad. I am sure this will change come Monday. This something I do not like at all. I could just trade it off but the only Ram truck I would get now is a 2500 with the bigger HEMI without the eTORQUE have to see how it plays out. Maybe have to rent truck when I need one for now just sucks. Will update more later on.

Get Ram Cares to try and expedite it. Batteries are out there, but the dealer tries to stick to their chain of supply. Used to be they would search one out across the system had get it shipped to them.
