Poor gas mileage

I have about 2,000 miles on my 2020 Rebel now. I can't believe how bad the mileage is (though I have not done the math my self yet, but that is coming just to verify). I am averaging 12-14 MPG. I rented a Ram 1500 4x4 (not sure if it is a 2019 or 2020) with a 5.7 Hemi and got 19-20 everywhere I go (yes mostly highway). I do have the etorque but the biggest factor I can find is I have a 3.92 Rear End and all others basic 1500s have the 3.21 rear end. Has anyone changed from the 3.92 to the 3.21 and seen an improvement? I'm sure the motor has plenty of power to do just fine without the gearing

Sounds horrible! I have a 2019 lifted Rebel on 35” Goodyears. K&N intake, Borla exhaust. Jut did a round trip of ~350 miles with +/- elevation change over the Rocky Mountains of Colorado on I-70.
was shocked at 19.4mpg & just under 1/4 in tank still when I got home.
I did run 91 octane premium gas on this trip.

You got 19 mpg running at an average of 80+ mph with your lifted rebel?

I have 6k miles on my 2020 1500 Limited (5.7 4x4). 75% of those miles are hwy and i'm averaging 13.8mpg.
I always use premium fuel (91, no ethanol). Has anyone noticed a difference between 87, 89, and 91?
Thanks in advance

2020 limited 3.21 gears 4x4 non e torque. Average 13.8-14.5mpg.

Only had truck for 600 miles and would rather get into the new 2021 f150 3.5l hybrid than get this poor mileage for another 5 years.

I am just over 2500 miles on my new Ram (Hemi+3.21), I am almost exclusively highway driving and i am sitting at 20mpg. I am hoping to get to 21+ for my highway trips, when I am driving around town I’m getting around 18.

I must say I am VERY impressed with the mpg, my 2019 Pentastar was 20+ all day long, I was concerned the Hemi would be much worse on the gas guzzling but so far so good!

With only 600 miles on it...the mpg will get better. That's how most new vehicles are...the break-in period usually doesn't return the best gas mileage.

With an empty bed, hard Tonneau cover, Hemi Etorque, 3.21 gears, 4wd...I'm getting about 25 mpg average with 80% highway. (Let me know if you require photo for this claim). Best gas mileage I've ever gotten out of a half ton pickup.

Ah ok, well even with only 3400 miles on it I'm sure you'll reach close to 17-18mpg after a couple more thousand miles. Of course...I don't know your driving habits and all though.

Just got home from a 4333 mile roadtrip. Tons of elevation change from Nashville to Yellowstone and back. Here’s how I did. Pretty happy with that. 2020 Bighorn, 5.7L eTorque, 4x4, 3.92 gears. 3 passengers with a bed full of luggage. Hard folding tonneau cover. Ran 87 octane the whole trip.

This was probably 3000 interstate miles at 75ish, and the rest mixed. Ran the calculation to show average speed over the trip.

That is impressive...and crazy. I don't get above 18 on highway trips, and I rarely drop below 17 in city/suburban driving. I have the same setup (5.7 etorque/3.92/hard bed cover).

I'm at 7K miles and get the same with 80% city driving. I suspect the money you lose trading for another truck so soon will outnumber the savings in fuel you see unless you keep that new truck for a LONG time.

You'd think this but mine has remained the same since day 1.

I don't see where you listed your truck details but 25 MPG is almost the holy grail for a HEMI powered truck.

When I hand calculate my fuel mileage on this truck, it's consistently 1mpg below what's displayed on the EVIC.

With 80% city driving, I'm not surprised you're getting that mileage though. But I listed my details above that 25 mpg post..I'll attach photo in an hour or so...

How many of you remember all the gas saving devices that used to be listed in the JC Whitney catalogs?

I have to ask, what speed are you averaging on the highway drive? Must be 50-55 ish.
