2019 5.7 hemi with 3.92,e torque. Rated at 17-22. Highway mileage is only around 16-17 and that’s driving speed limit, not passing etc. Truck only has 1300 miles on it. However it’s getting better mileage in town 17 mph, that etorque really seems to help in town? Just wondering if others have had same problem. Maybe better once I get a few more miles put on it? I was hoping for 21 at least.

I think its the gearing, my brand new 2020 Ram got 20.4 on the way home from the dealer , hiway 70-75 mph. I have 3.21 axle CC 4x4 Laramie sport.

I was wondering that. I was told it would be 1 mpg less. I see guys getting 20 with their rebels sure they have the 3.92 with big tires? Hopefully better with some miles

Also guess I thought the window stickers were truck specific? But must just be a estimation?

My 2020 ram sport, hemi, 392 rear, Average 21.7 miles to the gallon on a trip from Fort Worth Texas to Denver Colorado and back last October. I was driving the speed limit or less with a lot of road construction.

Window stickers are all the same, only difference is etorque or non. I have the V8, non etorque with 3.92 gears and my mileage was garbage at first. I have about 5K miles on it now and it's much better. My first oil change I switched to full synthetic oil and the truck went up 2 mpg across the board. I found the sweet spot for the 3.92's is 60-70 mph. I took a 500 mile road trip to the mountains with an average speed of 70 mph and got 21.5 mpg.

How many miles were on it at the time?

Wait a little longer. my truck gained 2-3 mpg after about 4500 miles. I have 3.21, but get over 24 highway on longer trips and average about 17.5 overall with 70% of that around town.

It will get a little better. I just averaged 19.4 MPG on a trip from Houston to Dallas, doing 70 MPH 90% of the way.
I have 10k miles on the truck and use 89 octane gas.
Cheers,

It'll improve as the engine gets broken in.

This is from Thanksgiving. Roughly ten miles in town a few days before, Cruise control at 65 for most of it, aside from snarls with solo spinouts and such, another five in town, then the return. But I have 3.21 gears.

I averaged 23.5 on way home from Cleveland after buying truck, about a 2 hour drive. Must have been wind at my back. I'm around 19.5 ish if I work it now. 800 miles currently and 3.21. hoping it improves after broken in. Still better than my 12 sport.

The Hemi takes about 5,000 miles to break in. I usually get 21-22 highway with the 3.21 gears.

So many factors in play, but tire size and axle ratio tells me you won't likely get the stated mpg even after a few thousand miles of running in.

The stated mpg on your window sticker was based on a 3.21 rear axle truck with standard 18" wheels and street tires. However, FCA was allowed to "blanket" that mpg to all the different trim levels across the board, including the Rebel.

I guarantee you a 33" A/T tired truck with 3.92 rear axle is never going to get 22 mpg highway. If I drive 65 mph without A/C, with my MDS on and happen to get a stretch of flat highway, which is rare in the hilly area I'm from, I may break 20 mpg. In most cases I'm barely hitting 18 mpg.

Once you mix that with street, it drops like a rock to about 14.5 mpg.

Up to nearly 14000 Miles averaging in town and out combo with most out on highway....18 to 19. usually run 65 to 70mph. 3.92 with E.T.

You are correct sir, 33" with 3.92 and i'm heavy foot in city and hwy. so i would never get MPG like they said, i'm only getting around 15city and 18 hwy. and i always turn off MDS so i can enjoy the muffler sound. But guess what? as long as i'm happy everytime i start the car i'm not worry about MPG.
