Hey guys I have a blk edition 19 bighorn and I’m adding some red accents(red caliper cover, red rimtrim) now I’m thinking about doing a red trim on my Bighorn and 4x4 badge.. anyone have success with plasti dipping the badges and do they? My truck theme is mostly black with some red int/ext. thanks!

Should work out great. Have Plasti-dipped many badges, wheels, grills, with great results.
Plenty of YT videos to show you how. Really simple.

It will be tricky since the outline is so narrow and the PD needs a decent surface area to bond, otherwise it will peel off. That's why you need to apply 4 coats minimum.

But paint it would be easy peasy?

These puppies ready for paintin!

Hey all. Was trying to plasti dip RAM grill letters. They are black badges, but I wanted them Del Red Pearl. I put 6 coats of black base and 6 coats of Cranberry Pearl Pearlizer. It came out lighter than expected, based on cap coloring. Any tips on how to darken the result? Would it help to do 2 coats of cranberry, then a light coat of black, followed by 3 or so coats of cranberry? Thanks.

Buy overlays in a closer match. You aren't going to get close with dip for that color.

True. If you're doing blacks/greys, you can get away with it, but matching colors will always be difficult to do.

Thanks, gents. Appreciate the confirmation. I did try the alternating of colors, but as you predicted, no joy. I just blacked them out again.

That looks miles better. Congrats.

For the grill letters are you taping them off? How are you doing it? I just did the door and tailgate badges, but couldn’t figure out a good way to attack the grill letters.

I pulled them off and sprayed them on some cardboard. I did not fare well when I taped them off. I pulled the edges up. I may have done better had I tried it a 2nd time but I didn't want to chance it.
