Hello Everyone,
Just wanted to introduce myself. I’m Matt and a big Mopar fan. This is my 3rd Dodge/Ram truck,1st was an 02 Dakota SXT 3.9 regular cab as a beater/weekend crap hauler. Got sick of spending a lot of my time fixing it, so I got an amazing lease deal on an 07 Ram 1500 Express V6. Great car, did everything I needed and never had a hiccup. The lease was ending in March, so I’ve been shopping for new deals since October.
Was close to getting into a V6 Warlock last month, but I didn’t like the numbers. I saw an ad for a 2020 Big Horn V8 with an unbelievable rebate and discount early this week. Honestly thought it was too good to be true. Went to the dealer Wednesday night and it turned out to be true. My only gripe is that they wouldn’t work a reasonable deal for another higher optioned one that was only $2k more. I think they had an overflow of pretty much base BH V8’s and were only dealing on those.
Anyway, I’m very happy with the deal I got, which was even better than what I got on the 17. I absolutely love the Hemi...So much more fun than my V6. Fit and finish is also nicer and seems to be smooth, but I only have like 10 miles on it so far. One big irk so far is that the 5” screen doesn’t offer XM which I thought was standard on all models.
I’ll be around asking a lot of questions about towing. I’m looking to pickup a trailer to haul my 02 Viper on occasion. Seems like I need a whole class IV hitch receiver, since my only came with Class III bumper hitch. If anyone has a short answer on what exact hardware I need, it’ll be greatly appreciated!
I’m also looking to get a Challenger Scat Pack or Hellcat in the near future, which will take the household to 100% Mopar
. Otherwise, I probably would have went with a higher optioned 1500. I like to row gears though!
