Panoramic Sunroof Question?

Most of the posts I've seen about sunroofs shattering, and not just with Rams, it always happens when the sunshade is closed. The poster always comments about being glad it was closed so the glass didn't fall on them. So my take is, keep the shade open.

I had an eagle talon tsi in black cherry when I was 17 or 18. Had a sunroof that only popped open a bit.

On a nice summer day, I figured out that you could remove the sunroof. I removed it and kept it off for the day. After coming home, I put it back on... But of course didn't completely reattach it.

The next time I cracked it open, BOOM, it blew off and, CRASH, it shattered all over the street.

In my case, it was user error.
