Hi there,
I have a 2019 ram rebel- stock suspension no lift. I had Bridgestone duelers HT 265/60/20 installed in April of 2022. Manufactured date on these were 0222, brand new tires. Last week I noticed “separating” on the two front tires directly above the rims. I immediately had them all changed before the fronts blew. The tire shop advised me these were too small and shouldn’t have been installed. I did check the weight rating and it seems to be fine. I called the dealership where I had them installed and they denied the tires being too small. My rating in the door advises of 55psi and the rating on the duelers are 40psi. Dealership advised me 42psi was put into each on day of install. I approximately put on roughly 5000-8000km’s in this period. I’ve attached pictures of the damage. Looking for what people think makes the most sense as to why these tires failed. I’m also speaking with Bridgestones warranty department, no one wants to take responsibility. Thanks!!

If that isn't a typo, a 265 should still fit an 8" rim properly, so they aren't "technically" too small - stretched. The 40 PSI max seems a little low to me, and I didn't look it up, but if you've checked the weight rating and it's more than 2100lbs per tire, it technically was safe. The PSI on the door panel is for the OEM Duratracs. 40-42 PSI is probably within the gauge tolerance. You probably aren't going to win any lawsuit, they're just crappy tires that were at their design limit.

And that's not a Rebel tire. :)

Let's ignore the fact that you put the worst tire on the market onto a Rebel which comes from the factory with premium tires. The things that can cause what I see in those pictures are running the tires at pressure that's too low or simply defect in the tires. In my experience with Bridgestone I'm going to go with defect in the tires. I think you should call Bridgestone on the phone and complain.

Also, if those are not LT-E rated, you should not run them at high pressure either. For a P-rated tire go with 36-38 PSI. I have no idea why they spec 55 PSI on the Rebel. I don't care that the Rebel comes with LT-E tires, it's a 5,600 lb. vehicle and does not need 55 PSI of pressure. That's 3/4 ton truck territory.

well in a way there must be a reason it says maximum 40 psi on the tires.

now was it really 42 psi that was put into them, did you check the psi yourself? dealer maybe says that to civer therself ...but if it was more....

do you put heavy stuff in the truck ?
