Open Differential? Not so much.

Thanks for the reply. I was reading the manual, and it says I have TCS, ESC, and BLD which will simulate a limited slip axle. So will turning off the TCS button disable the ESC and the TCS, but leave BLD working? It also says only BLD is enabled in 4 low.

Sorry for so many questions!

You can disable the TCS by the switch. However, I believe, only ORG and and Rebel's can turn ESC off, unless you pull the fuse for it.
I'm not familiar with the BLD operation, but it's using the brakes to transfer torque to the wheels that aren't spinning.

Thanks. I'm guessing BLD is always on?
Yes. It remains on when you turn traction control off. It is available in 4 hi and 4 low for sure.

I am not positive if it is available in 4auto...and not familiar if it is available in 2wd.

Information about it is vague. But i have used it in 4 low anf 4 hi and it is a real life saver.

Had bought a 2020 pretty much loaded 4x4 1500 Ram left on the Dealer. Almost perfect in all ways for what I wanted. Tow package and all. Hell of a discount, 13K . Buy for some unknown reason the thing had an Open Diff.
Took the truck to Pyle Brothers in Baytown, Tx. Not too far for me. Differential work is all they do and for 40 years. They put in a Eaton Detroit True Track anti slip. Helica gears no clutch packs. 3 hr job. Under 1k.
cannot image why a dealer would order a 4x4, tow package and no anti slip.
must have never been on a slippery slidey boat ramp.
Does anyone know of any reason this same thing couldn't be done on a 2019 2WD? I may give Pyle Brothers a call.

Do you have a link or part number to what you bought? I was on the Eaton site before and didn't see anything for 2019+ trucks.

As someone who is new to trucks/4wd, is Anti Spin a “must have”? I’m in the process of building out/shopping inventory and notice some have this and some do not...

For those that don’t have one, how much is this for a dealer add on or is this even possible?

It's definitely not a must, but anti spin is better than open diff for some use cases like winter/snowy roads, going up a boat ramp; especially if you only have 2wd.

The locking diff is better yet if you plan to offroad.

Wish I had LSD or a locker, but they didn’t have many out there. At least I have BLD
