Oil catch can

Its been solid for years too, pretty much caught the same amount and same texture of goo. This is a recent development after a brutal cold and wet winter. Just finished putting back together my intake, the pvc tube, intake and TB had oil and blowby stuff on them so cleaned it all out and replaced the MAP sensor since it is downstream and also had oil vapor on it, since I had a brand new one laying around. Im going to contact mishimoto and see if they can sell just the media part to me and let them know what happened. She is running perfect now, idling like the day it rolled off the dealer lot.

My throttle body is that clean with the catch can on at 67,000 + km

Just got off the phone with mishimoto and they told me that the filter part is 50 microns, does require occasional cleaning service, and the best way to clean it is with an ultrasonic cleaner. I have an ultrasonic cleaner so probably should have tried that first but now I know! They do have replacement parts so I ordered a couple to have on hand. Very easy company to work with. Mine has been in service since sept of 2022, so 3.5 years. I would recommend to check out the filter media if you've had the catch on for years and only emptied it but never cleaned / tested the components.

It's called a sintered brass filter, they come in various shapes and sizes
