The solution is easy, recall the BTS and figure out which trucks needs the ORP springs and replace them. Hopefully they dont drag their feet on this issue

I know right, or easy enough just expeditiously approve the changing of springs for everyone who complains. Did your dealer get your springs ordered?

Theyre claiming the springs are “backordered”. I called yesterday to get an update and to see if theyre available under a updated part number and have not received a call back. Today I did get an email from my case manager saying that it is still under investigation. I honestly cant figure out what theyre is to investigate. The wrong springs were put on the truck, end of story. Replace them with the right ones.

Well Ram customer care called me back today and it did not go well. They told me that their "level 2" refused to even take my complaint and that my dealership should have noticed the problem and refused the truck while doing a checklist at delivery. The guy telling me this, his name was Mario I believe, seemed like he really did not want to say that. He said he tried to reach out to them to argue on my behalf and he got nowhere.

I would keep calling back, this is not a dealership issue, this is an assembly line issue. Let FCA find you a dealership that checks all the part numbers on a vehicle before they initiate a sale and ill show you a green dog.

Early today i found a ORP big horn and parked next to it to see the difference and it is definitely noticeable. Sucks because ive had to put all the plans for my BTS on hold until this issue is fixed. By the time they get around to fixing it the 6112s will probably be released and I wont even need the front ORP springs.

I'm in a similar boat myself. I'd really like to have them but I do almost zero off roading and I just want to fit bigger tires. I've got a 2" spacer already. Almost feel like it's not worth the trouble at this point.

Wondering if supply of available ORP springs was effected by Covid and in order to meet the deadlines, they just grabbed whatever was available.

The majority of the offroading that I do is in the fall/winter during hunting seasons. It tends to start snowing mid November-early December and ground clearance in some of the areas I frequent is a necessity. I think its still worth the hassle of dealing with FCA because our trucks were suppose to come standard with the ORP, its not like these were cheap purchases that we all made. I could understand maybe a piece of Ikea furniture not coming with a few screws, but $50k+ trucks not coming with parts?

I would say that is a strong possibility but my truck has a manufacture date of 01/20 prior to all the covid-19 shutdowns.

Same here...I own farmland just to hunt and I lease it out to a farmer who plants crops. In the fall I frequently drive down the tractor paths or even into the fields after the crops are cut. I also live in a heavy snow area in central NY and my road gets large snow drifts. That extra ground clearance is more of a necessity to me.

Joined in today with an email to my service manager (with pictures). Hoping enough of these cases will encourage some reaction from FCA. Loving the truck, would just like what I thought I was buying.
Update- the service mgr passed on my email to head office but warned it may take some time to hear back.. It's a start.

I was able to buy the ORP springs from a Mopar parts website, so there are springs out there. Hopefully dealers have the same access to make it right. Once my bilstiens arrived, I knew I wouldn’t have the patience to deal with Ram to do the right thing, so I pulled the trigger. Good luck to all.

Yeah, Its been driving me crazy sitting on my 5100s&5160s. Ive also had to put my tires on hold due to spring-gate. I was told today that I should hear more in the next couple of days. As posted prior, senior management is fully aware of the issue and is working to ensure that it is corrected so dealers do not have to even order the proper springs. Be sure to post your build when its complete!

After going under the truck prior to removing the valance and air dam, theres nothing really preventing rocks from flying up into the engine. Im hoping for a relatively affordable skid plate being released in the near future. The air dam removal hasnt affected my mpg’s noticeably since removal and is a much cleaner look. I gained over 6” of ground clearance by removing it.

Way cleaner look’ I’ll be doing it as well but hopefully someone comes up with th skid plate for that space, I seen someone fabricate one on this forum but I don’t have that kind of equipment to do so..

I'm curious to see if there's any noticable mpg difference after you run a few tanks of gas through it.

It looks awesome though!

Ive had it off for around 3 and a half months now, most of my driving is stop and go suburban driving and ive taken a few long road trips. There has not been any noticeable decrease in mpg. Ive been offroad several times too(probably wouldnt of been able to prior). I worry way more about mud splatter on the undercarriage on the truck than rocks. NY red clay-mud gets everywhere and its a real B to get off
